I won't be there. Will you be running, though, Ty? Don't go if you're not planning on running -- the high school drags are cool. ;)

what time? I really need to go. I need practice.

Yes I am planning on running Scott. This will be my second time on the track so it might not be pretty though! Hey BillyBadAss. Will you be going? I believe the drags are all day starting at ten.Drop a line and let me know. Oh by the way Scott, why not go if your not running? They would still be fun to watch.

Alright, if I do go I would have to wait until I get off work. Friday's I get off at about 3. I will try to make it, I have only done it once before and need the practice.

I wouldn't mind going and getting some times before my upcoming mods. How much is it?
BillyBadAss
May 12th, 2001, 07:48 PM
Yeah, what's the cost for this? Like $20 or so? For those going, what time are you looking to be there?
slim
May 12th, 2001, 08:52 PM
I think it is like 20 dollars to race...i know it is not more expensive than 40. I have afreind that goes all the time and he doesnt have any money so i think were ok. So you guys for sure going?
BillyBadAss
May 12th, 2001, 10:10 PM
I'll go. What time you gonna be there? Jordan, you going? What time for you?
TheProbeKid
May 12th, 2001, 10:11 PM
I'm not sure of my schedule yet for that day, but I'll let you guys know.

May 13th, 2001, 08:37 AM
I have to try to call in sick for work and then ill head down about noon or so once my car gets fixed...its idling wierd now.Do you guys wanna try to meet up? Ive never raced there so i dont know what im doing though.
BillyBadAss
May 13th, 2001, 09:00 AM
well, we could meet up somewhere, but like I said before, I don't get off work until about 3. I don't want you all to have to wait for me. I don't exactly have the liberty of calling in sick... damn army. Anyway, if I can somehow find a way to get out early I will, but I probably wouldn't be able to make it to the track until about 4.

May 13th, 2001, 04:19 PM
Hey since ive never been to SIR to drag where do i go to start when i get there? Who do you have to pay or whatever? Anybody been and know?
BillyBadAss
May 13th, 2001, 05:13 PM
There will more than likely be a line of cars at the gate to get in and race. If not, just drive up to the booth, pay the person there to race and drive sraight until you get to the tech inspection area. From there you will proceed on to the parking area, which is a road that loops around to the start of the track with other little roads going across. You can pretty much park anywhere that is not paved. You just continue on around the circle to line up. I hope this makes sense, and I hope I didn't screw anything up here.
slim
May 13th, 2001, 05:39 PM
That sounds good but you said tech inspection?will they bust me for having a testpipe or what do they check for.wait im at the track so a testpipe is legal.what do they check for?
BillyBadAss
May 13th, 2001, 06:18 PM
When I went before, the only thing I saw them check for was seatbelts. I don't think you've got anything to worry about running a test pipe. Last time I was there a guy drove in with a CRX with open headers. Cat and everything else was removed from the car before he even showed up to the track and he drove it there like that.

Ummmmm, if you're all planning to race on the 18th, you'd better call to make sure you can. Last I remembered, the "All High School Drags" were exclusive of anyone not in high school. ;) You guys might be in luck, though -- just didn't want you to show up and not get to run...

Hey BadAss,
I have a four point seat belt mounted to the rear seat belt bolts. Will they not let me run because of this since it is now mounted to a roll cage? And yes scott i think anyone can run cause i have a freind going who races every year and he goes to the UW.

What? So you're saying only people that are not in high school can race? That's fine with me.... haven't been in high school for six years.

As long as you have a seatbelt that works you shouldn't have any problems.

BillyBadAss
May 14th, 2001, 06:43 PM
duh... I think I misunderstood what you said earlier. Anyway, I don't know how it is here, but in all the other places I've lived they all had "high school drags" but it more of an open track thing where anyone can race anything they want... provided they pass inspection.

o.k. I found some stuff out about the drags. They don't begin until six so thats good. There is a burn out comp, an hour before. Once i find out if anyone can race ill post..later.
BillyBadAss
May 14th, 2001, 08:57 PM
coolio. So are you planning on being there at 6?
slim
May 14th, 2001, 11:00 PM
Yes, ill probably be down around six.Still gotta make sure if i can get work off early though.I think it will be pretty busy down there. Alot of kids bring down there everyday 22 second cars just for the chance to say that they raced so we might only get in about 2 or 3 runs.

I'm not gonna be there. Bastards mean that stuff literally when they say High School drags. I called and asked about it and the chick told me only HS people can race. Never in my life have I heard of such crap, but oh well. She kept trying to convince me to go though, telling me how much fun it would be. I think she wants me. Of course she's probably mssing a few teeth and has a family tree with no branches. Anyway, maybe I'll go up there next wednesday night for the street legal drags.

Hey all,
Well i went to Sir last night for the high school drags. I only got one run in. This was my first time dragging on the track and i got a 15.8 at 86.6? Is this good for my first time? I slipped the clutch at 3500.Should i have dropped it? Ill go to the street legal drags and get better im sure. Well i raced a camaro and beat his time but he got the automatic win cause i went on the third amber (see above!)! Oh well all in fun. Hey i saw Brian race in your black gt. What was your time? I also saw a purple probe gt in the lot with an eleven second dial in? Who is this and what does he have on it? Hey Badass do you want to go to the street legals? Also you could have gone cause i saw a ton of college age students and adults race!

yeah, I think I'll be out there Wednesday night. I really do need to practice.
I would have went but that chick said high school people only. I guess if you're not too long out of high school they'll let you run too, but after I told her I graduated in '95 she said I could go watch. Anyway, I gotta find out what time wednesday night now, so I'll know when to leave the house.

Hey Brian,
How do you get a 15.7 with a bad launch and a bad clutch? What mods do you have? If you look at my signature and look at my time(15.6 at 88 was my best).Should i be making better times? I usually shift at six thousand cause if i redline it drops power.
thnx.

my best time was 13.8 @ 106mph
with a bad launch and a (good) clutch...
If Dan C. was driving, it would have been a 13.2.

I think a 13.78 would be more like it - then I'd put on some funky pants and utter "I just beat Jeff's best time!"
