RYGT, you know, I'll bet your car would look really good if you changed the yellow to black, and tinted the front windows to match. That would look good with the chrome rims. Just something to think about.....

Looks good! I think the side view looks better than the FX Lip (doesn't stick out in front of the car like the FX does). It'd look REALLY nice if it were molded in!

Yea... I'm not changing the strip color. Too much effort/time/work/money. I'm looking into a paint sponsorship soon.

Ya know man, you're making this hard on me. I really like the Ninja front end, but after seeing this lip, I have an insane custom idea too. Both would end up costing about the same but...Argh!

Insane idea! Yes! Let me tell you this. I can get the lip to your door for $194 cheaper than I could the Ninja front. Does that help your decisoion at all? Two totally differnt looks man!

By the way... When I start doing the body again I MAY look into some new side skirts. Ones that would match that lip. I'd need some orders first though! Like 20ppl interested before the project would start.

Ben,
Are any modifications required on the stock bumper? I remember the early prototypes needed some slots cut out or something.
Would it still be possible to mount the lip and have it look decent if you cut off the pieces that extend up the sides? That way I could just paint the bottom part black from a can and mount it myself. That top part would look out of place if it weren't painted body color.
How much would shipping be to New York 10710?
Looks SWEET! ;)

Shipping accross the U.S. would probably be about $30-$40. I've never thought about cutting the side pieces off. Why not paint it the same color?
As for that prototype. That's what it was. Just the origianl piece. We modified it so when we made more it wouldn't need any extra work. All good to go though!!!

He means he wants it so it would be black and just along the bottom, similar to the stock R1 spoiler on an RX-7. That would be a really good idea, cux you could avoid the hassle/expense/incompetence of a body shop if you do it yourself!

Hey Ben, when will Corksport have the final lip in production?
I can see the lip on your car still have some minor fitment problems. Man, I wanted to get one! I was thinking coming down to pick one up and spend some vacation days in Portland... need to get away from work.
Hey, are you going to do a BB on this?

Where is there fitment problems? That thing is a finished piece there. Cept for the Krylon paint. They are made and ready to go...

Actually that whole project took us like 6 or 7 months to finish! Not a whole lot of work though. More time to get the thing here then time to wait and have the mold and new ones made....

Hey Ben, don't get me wrong... the lip fitted quite nicely on your car, I am not complaining. But I remember seeing the lip from the original Japanese PGT and I saw gaps on the sides. I couldn't find the original picture, so I used yours. If you can show me a closeup, that would be great.

Let me be the first to say, good eye! Yea, I know the gap you are talking about. They piece that is on my car right now is NOT an origanial piece. Remeber, that was NOT made for the Probe. So it didn't fit his car 100%. I've actually talked to the guy with that white Probe (he's got ALOT) done to it) Anyway. the reason for that is we did some cutting then some open area was exposed. So what we did was have our fiberglass guy build onto it making it go tward the car to cover that area up. Here is a picture so you can kind of see the area....
[url= BORDER="0">
here is a pic of the lip beeing test fitted the first time. You can see the area right below the fog lights. How it is different from the finished piece. We tapered it down when me and Derrick were messing with it, but the fiberglass guy thought it should be his why so he could fill that gap in...
http://www.magicpuppet.com/sonicprobe/lip-03.jpg
Here you can actually see where it tappers in just to the left of the fog light. Notice that angle? That is what was built onto the origanl so the mold and copies would come out correctly.
http://www.magicpuppet.com/sonicprobe/lip-09.jpg
One thing I should say though is that line around the top where it meets the bumper does not sit perfectly against the car. It doesn't bother me at all though. I mean really looks like it was made for the Probe! (for those of you who don't know it's actually a lip made in Japan for the Toyota Levin)
I answer your question Mega? Good question too man!

Yeah, I emailed him a couple of times. He got some nice custom work on it. Too bad, i couldn't meet up with him when I was in Japan last Dec.

BB's are hard to do with pieces like that. I mean it wouldn't work out. Ok, it costs $40 to ship accross the U.S. SOOO I then have to ship 10 or whatever lips TRUCK FREIGT (cuz it'd be so big) to whoever did the BB. That would be about $100. Then that will be divided by the 10 ppl. So that is $10 each. The price of the lips goes up $10 from the discounted price. Then the person running the BB has to then ship all the lips out. Let's say that will be $30 each. Now you are paying $40 (on average) more than the discounted BB price. Now lets say that the BB discount was $50 (just a big guess)off each lip. Making it $190. Now you take on that extra $40 with shipping costs. What do you have? A $230 lip and a long waited time! Wow you just saved $10!!!!!
