Ok some of you may know I am having a biyatch of a time getting off my egr pipe from my stock exhaust manifold. My buddy is big time into moding his 98 mustang cobra and said mustang guys always block the egr portion of the headers. My questions is can we do this to our cars and what will this do? hurt, help, do nothing at all, what???? Do I have to adjust anything if this is done? I know if I don't dyno tune my car the check engine light will come on but I plan on tuning it later after I get my rawpower stage 4, spacers, intake charger when PRD comes out with it, glass packed CAT, brospeed headers and i already have borla cat back. Any suggestions and has anyone done this before and can tell me what happens to sound and performance. My car is going to breathe as easily as a horny woman hee hee hee!!!!

Someone did this a while back. He said he did it until his adapter would come in. He never said if he had any problems. You should try the search. He was a member of the Bay Owners probes in Cali. Good luck, laters Mikal

Glass packed cat? Why not just have a test pipe made or by one in the for sale section. I have a 93 gt mtx and punched the cat out. Took about 20 minutes to remove and methodically beat the internals out of the cat and install it again. The only problem I had was I could not get the gasket to seal properly. Eventualy fixed it with some standard gaskets I bought from murrys. I also am going to install a set of headers and was wondering the same thing. The car got a little louder with the cat punched. The most improvemnet I made to my Boral exhaust was to cut the muffler off and put a Race Magumn on with a brospeed tip. I love it now Can we say throaty. I am hoping when I have the install complete that I still have the same sound after the turbo goes in and larger piping.

I blocked off my EGR with the BroSpeed headers. I have no problems whatsoever! No codes, check engine lights, or performance differences. I was worried about doing it at first, but my friend said to just chill 'cause it doesn't do anything substantial to performance or to the engine. So, you should do it.

When I installed my phenospacers, I grinded a dime sized slot in the phenospacer EGR port and put a dime in that slot, sealed with high-temp copper sealant, effectively blocking the EGR.

When I installed my Pacesetter headers, I sprayed gobs and gobs of penetrating fluid on both ends of the EGR tube and the connection at the head was the hardest to get off. It took a 23mm wrench I think. It just takes some handywork to get your hands in there.

I just had mine blocked today but I want the adapter to fit them properly with the EGR running (should be better fuel economy plus I need to pass an emissions test).
