I got a STS made from a stock shifter. Came in the mail today. :D Anyway, the ball on the stock shifter what is it made out of? The guy who made the shifter rustproofed and painted the entire shifter including the ball. Well somewhere down the road all the paint crinkled so the ball is not smooth. i am going to sand the paint off the ball tonight, should I be aware of anything before i start sanding?

it's metal - use steel wool or something so as not to damage the surface - sanding would probably be okay, but there is potuntial for creating burrs on the surface which could be damaging to the nylon parts that it seats in.

Thanks for the info. I will try steel wool. While I have you online do you remember where you got that FPR rail adapter?
