Do I have to get the tranny regeared for the torque converter to work effectively?

I would really like to know what the IAT mod is.

Will the IAT mod work on my 93 Probe GT 5 speed? It looks like the previous owner did it, since the ground wire for the IAT was cut and spliced back together.
