Since I am low on money I am gonna make a custom cat back. Not sure what muffler yet.
Anyways my question is should I get 2.25" pipes or 2.5" ? I belive 2.5" would be best considering our 2.5L displacement and the V6. I read some article in scc mag i belive where they tested different cars with different exhaust sizes to figure out whats best for what car and i belive everyting under 1.8L was best to use 2.25" and then 1.8L to 2.5L(or 3.0L) was 2.5".
Of course this is for N/A cars only.

Anyways I want your guys opinion.

Gr-r-o-o-o-o-a-a-n................

There are gonna be some people on here that will say 2.5" will result in a loss of low end torque and thus use the 2.25".

I have no doubt that the 2.5" will show less low end torque than 2.25" but the KL engine is a high revving engine anyway so who cares?

No one on this board has ever installed 2.25" piping, dynoed their car, replaced the 2.25" piping with 2.5", and then dynoed their car again. That's the only way to prove who's right in this silly argument.

Search on this board and you'll find a few rather long threads that "discuss" this issue.

Exhaust systems on a vehicle that sees double duty between the street and the track are usually a compromise. If the system is designed to favor one environment over the other, then the system will shine in that environment and show its shortcomings in the other.

Oh, my opinion? Go for the 2.5".
