I am considering removing my heat, everything to do with it. I have already stripped my interior and no longer have AC. I decided to now strip out the heating system also. I only drive my car during the summer any way so why not. I interested to see how difficult this is to do? Do I have to remove dash? Also what do I do with cooling lines? Help would be appreciated, Thanks
Also I have a 93 PGT if it matters

if it's in the interest of weight reduction then it's not worth your effort. The conduits are plastic and weight nearly nothing. The heater core may be a pound - you can lose that from your waistline in a week. The most significant weight will be the blower, and even that's not much.
Furthermore, you'd be removing your emergency engine cooling system. I can't tell you how many times I've been stuck in traffic on a hot summer day and needed to turn the heater on full to supplement the radiator for cooling (most often the result of slightly low coolant level) - but were it not for that option, I'd have been stuck on the side of the road with the rest of the clowns who were pulled over because of running their A/C too long and hard.
Those things disregarded: yep, you'll have to take apart your dash and re-route the coolant line that feeds the heater core.

So I'm assuming I should not remove it! Yes, it was for weight reduction, but if it dosen't weigh that much and is more of a headache then a reward then screw it. I thought it would weigh alot. My girlfriend has a 93 accord and i replaced her blower motor that weighed a ton. I figured ours was heavy too. Did you remove your heat or hear this from a friend of a friend? Thanks

I removed my A/C, but left the heating system in place - as my daily driver I require being able to defrost the windshield. I had not gotten my hands on the blower, but I have heard from others that it only weighs a few lbs. If you do a search through the pic posts you may be able to find an image from someone who has pulled the dash which reveals the air ducts so you can see just what all the components look like and take a guess at their combined weight. I'm sorry I don't have an exact number for you, but I'm certain it's going to be less than 20lbs and I know it's a bit of work to shave that.
