i just installed my afpr and i am trying to set it to 43 psi wot. i have the hex screw so far down that the tightening nut is covering it all and yet i can only get 23 psi..
car is sputtering at wot low rpm which leads me to beleive i am running rich.... so i guess my guage is broken?

You turning it the right way? 23psi is real low and would cause problems at wot.

43psi at idle sounds better......

Are you sure you installed the AFPR correctly? The port opposite the hex screw is the outflow side. That should go to your fuel return hardline. The ports on the sides should go to the rail.

Are all of your connections set properly (did you use teflon paste )? Do you have leaks of any kind? And what fuel pump do you have?

no leaks so far... i used teflon paste and i have the stock fuel pump and a new fuel filter.
I have the line from coming from the mbx fuel rail adaptor going into the side port of the afpr and the bottom port of the afpr going into what i believe is the fuel return line.
i am turning the hex screw clockwise. at first, it was at like 10 psi, but turning it clockwise has brought it up to 23 psi. but that adjustment screw cant go much further than where it is now.
the car is quite a bit slower (butt dyno) at the current setting of 23 psi than where it was (10 or so psi)..
if requested, i will post a pic of my set up in the morning

Do not drive the car at 23 psi. You'll blow the motor. It's running very lean.

i took the guage off and put it on again.... pressure shot up to 83 psi
i turned it down to 43 but after 10 minutes of driving, i checked it again and it was at 50.. i dont have very much faith in the accuracy of this guage.. it seems to be running better when the guage says 36 psi. (without vacuum)
i think i might get an actual fuel pressure test to see what psi i am really at.

definately sounds like the gauge is inaccurate....
that would be why ur car wasn't working so well with the psi cranked all the way (really....something like 70psi)
so a real fuel pressure test and find out, or get a new gauge!!

Wonderboy, take a look here (http://forums.probetalk.com/showthread.php?t=1701118354), there is a Aeromotive FPR gauge for sale.

I to recently installed the MBX ultimate kit....I love it so far...not sure what went wrong with your gauge at first but sounds like something was clogging???..anyways...My pressure is set at 33 psi idle (about 43 psi WOT). I also have the KLZE...My car will change 3-4 psi from when the car is first started cold and when it is at full operating temperature. Just thought I'd share my info...

Another note, sometimes trapped air can cause a guage to give whacked readings. Once purged may be OK.
