Has anyone tryed putting one of these klze eprom chips in their de ecu? Would the car perform better, run bad. Just thinking about it, and would like to know if anyone try it.

I currently run one now. I have a Maxx Motorshports chip in my DE ECU. Runs great, nothing I can complain about related to the chip or ECU.

max motorsports. never heard of them. a ze chip in a de will not do anything for you. unless you have a ze, in a de it does nothing for you except hurt gas mileage.

Are you running it on a de motor or ze?

on a ZE motor of course  ...never crossed my mind someone would throw this in for a DE motor. And Harvey is right, all it does is change the VRIS points and fuel maps to better use the ZE. Without a ZE it does nothing but kill your gas mileage. I have a pic around here somewhere if you're interested...just gotta find it.

mine was custom made...no ebay crap in my ECU. I wouldn't trust anything that comes off ebay like that. For all you know you are getting a blank chip.

not completely true, I used to sell my chips on ebay. now there is someone on there who bought mt chip and is selling it for 20 bucks less. not all of the people on ebay are not all scams. however most of them are just selling other peoples shit.I have made plenty of money off of the chips, No soliciting, please

Not likely. Besides it's only like $60.00

I purchased one of these chips from E-Bay and installed the socket (included) and chip. Very noticable difference. :D (I even salvaged the old chip, just in case.....I have heard that people destroy the oem chip installing the ze chip.)

hello everyone, i´m a newbie from sweden and i just wonder wich chip in the ecu is it that you should replace when upgrading, there are three pretty similar ones... is it the one with this number 079753-1805 on?

dont replace it with anything unless youve done a lot of modding. if you dont have boost you probably dont need to upgrade your ecu. the only time you should make changes is if you get a ZE or make some major modifications.

for our cars its not worth getting a "drop in" replacement as it wont do much, the ECU already seeks for the best timing points, fuel is usually ok so theres no real need to upgrade like in other cars.

why waste money on MS for a stock car? the time + cost could be better spent on many other things before he even needs to consider it.

On the subject of ECU's, if I make a custom manifold, what happens when it sees VRIS is disconnected?

you just leave the vris solenoids in place and it thinks they are working.
