Hey guys,
I'm assuming this topic has been brought up before. I searched and couldn't find anything. Has anyone ever swapped a v8 engine into their probe before? I know it's tight under there :P but maybe with extensive modifications?

Sorry if this has been beaten to death :wtf:

lots of people talk about it, but few actually really do it. I think the most common is a ford v8 but i may be getting ready to start a carbed buick

When I was younger I saw a 1st-gen with a blown something in it, whatever it was it was monstrous and had a blower that stuck like a foot out of the hood and a huge drivebelt for the supercharger.

Bob Glidden ran both a 1st gen and a 2nd gen funny car.

What was the name of the dude that swapped a Taurus SHO V8 into his 1st gen Probe LX? I can't remember his screen name anymore. Hmm.. now i'm not sure... are the SHO engines actually V8 or V6...

198X-1995 SHO's were V6, 1996-1999 SHO's were 3.4L V8

Yeah, it was a 1992 engine from a SHO he transplanted in his LX Probe.

I heard it was thoreticaly possible to throw the 95-00 crown vic v-8's in the 2nd gen's engine bay with some massive custom work, is that true?

Is that the same kid that swapped the SHO motor into his LX and then slapped on twin turbos? That's nuts...

Theoretically its possible to swap an F1 engine in the 2nd gen engine bay.....
