ok, ive done a search and this pacesetter catback seems great. im definetly going to buy it, either at summit or nopi online. Just a few questions, has anyone tried to order from them recently? do they still have any left? because i heard some places have them backordered and stuff. Also, im just going to take the whole pacesetter package to midas and let them do everything. it should fit right in right, no problems? how much do you think they will charge for installation? They dont have to cut out a bigger opening for the tips correct?

Thanks!

my pacesetter costed $68 to get put on but thats bc the 97's needed 6 inches added on to it to get it to fit right.....since u have a 94...urs will be bout $40-50 to install....direct fit....no resizing holes or tips..the muffler comes already assembled.....that 6 inch piece costed me $20 :x

u can get them put on for like 30-40 MAX.....i paid 20 cuz i had a couple of bums who wanted beer money that nite and did it for me and i paid them cash (all i had on me, they wanted 30) without paying thru the shop

i bought my pacesetter system from nopi and recieved it in about a week. As long as there are no superscript numbers next to the price (little numbers at the top) they should be in stock. I would go with nopi as they seem to be excellent in service. But either place has good credentials. good luck and you will love it , i guarantee it.

I ordered through NOPI, and they sent me an email the next day saying that the order was cencelled because they didnt have any in-stock, and that they would not back-order it for me. I then ordered from JC Whitney, and am basically getting the same response, my order was placed 3 weeks ago, and still no exhuast.

It'd be alot simpler if people would just call up places once in a while, espcially if you think the item is already outa stock, at least you'd know then and there and not worry about it.

Call DJ from cashiers performance. He'll hook you up if anyone can. $176 shipped to my door in less than 3 days :D

I ordered one form nopi. The next day I also got an email saying that they were out of stock and that my order had been cancelled. In the meantime, I put on a testpipe and WAI to get nearly the same effect. Hopefully they have it again soon. I definately want some more powwa!!

The exhaust bolts right on. It is definitely easy to do it yourself. The only tricky part is if your bolts from the old exhaust are rusted on. WD-40 and some air tools help. Its really not hard though, just save yourself $40

Good news, i emailed summitracing.com and asked if they had it in stock and they said they did, so i ordered it online and the order status says "Ready to ship today" so they do have it, for anyone who got rejected from nopi.

I hope its good,, people are making fun of me becuase its not a flowmaster or greddy and they think its going to sound all screechy and waspy. They never heard of pacesetter. I just want a nice growl, nothing big, and im pretty sure the pacesetter will do that by all the good reviews ive read on it.. I dont really have any mods and i have a ATX, i hope it still sounds good.

Thanks for all the help

IMO the GReddy is the riciest sounding exhaust made for our cars...

i am honestly not trying to knock anyones choice of exhaust, but i would definatley recommend saving a bit more and going with the borla. more power(not like you can tell 2 or 3 hp anyway:grin: ) but the biggest difference is the sound. deep rumbly growl. a kid i know bought the pacesetter, and after seeing/hearing mine, wishes he didnt.

The Borla does not make any more power. It sounds good yeah, it'll last longer yeah.... but don't say it makes more power, it doesn't. Its 2" piping, I talked to Borla about making a larger size piping a while back and they thought it was a good idea but sorta just dropped the ball.... oh well. They made it to stock stock specks re: diameter. Thats straight outa the horses mouth. The PS has the biggest non custom piping out there. 2.5"

My pacesetter system took about 5days to ship to me from carparts.com awhile back though. And it cost me a case of Bud Light to get it put on at the Tuffy shop here. I love it when you know people. It should all fit up with no problems though.

OK, i got my pacesetter fedexed today, its beautiful ha, i took it to midas right away and they installed it with no probs in about 30 min. It is awesome . A very deep growl, no screech sounds at all. Only thing that bothers me is the loud groaning in 2k-3k rpm range. It is very loud. But it sounds amazing. Even the midas guy was impressed, he said WOW when he first heard it. overall, this exhaust is great, oh by the way, how many horsepower did i gain with this? this is on the only performance mod i have. so i guess about 3-5 horses?

as far as i know, the pacesetter gets approximately 5 hp. That is kind of a guess, but mostly people do it for the sound, which as i have heard from lots of folks, is awesome. I await the day I have the $$$ to order my own.

i'm suprised you got a Midas shop to install "your parts" . the one i used to work at would never install "OPP" other peoples parts .
one good thing , midas offers a very nice muffler called "the Ravin" now you wanna talk about the best sounding muffler out there , well theres no dought on this one ! kinda pricy though , most everything at Midas is (112.00$ for one rotor for our cars) , the markup is outragess .

Wow, can't have an exhaust post without mark showing up

There should be some sort of rule prohibiting you from posting in every post about it. If it were so great, other people would speak up too, you don't have to go into every post and be like "buy a ravin" anyway....

The exhaust is for alot more than just sound.... I'd say 5HP is a conservative estimate, more likely around 8=9WHP..... dunno though.

The droning in the 2-3k range does happen on the PS but its mostly due to the stock exhaust manifolds, and just magnified by the type of exhaust you have. Get headers and it'll go away. Ask rick if you don't believe me ;)

god i get sick of all these pacesetter posts. just buy the thing, you'll like it a lot. i just hated the muffler it came with so bought a new one after having the PS one on for almost a year. but the price for the piping is still WELL worth it.

I'll concur with how loud the car is from 2-3k, it then transistions into a more raspy/ricey noise (probably from the pipes being new, and having a testpipe). It sounds great at idle, and Im hoping in time, the rasp will go away, as the pipes get a nice coating of exhaust crap.

the rasp has to be your test pipe. i have absolutely no rasp, but i don't have a test pipe on.

i installed the pacesetter on my 2.0 base model and then in a week and a half i got rear ended 2 blocks from my house and the car was totaled. needless to say i was angry because after spot torqueing the exhaust clamp bolts, i could not get the exhaust off even with a rubber mallet. overall the systen sounded great and i had no complaints.

I've been brainwashed!

I have seen so many pacesetter commercials on Probetalk that I finally gave in and just ordered on from NOPI for 174.00 shipped.

I called on the phone and the guy told me they are in fact in stock.

I didnt even want another exhaust but post after post just wore me down.
