I was wondering if anyone has installed a limited slip tranny in their Probe? Does it make a huge difference?

I've got a Quaife, and yeah -- it makes a big difference. No more one wheel wonder, especially when turning.

What was your before and after 60' times with the Quaife?

I dunno... I don't go to the track, and I never bothered to do any self-timing. I don't really care how much difference it made to straightline performance, its more about how it makes the car more driveable.

FYI: Corksport sells a JDM tranny with an LSD

the corksport tranny is a clutch type LSD though. A quaife I feel is better for FI, if staying N/A the corksport/JDm tranny is fine.
****MY OPINIONS**** ;)

If you are going for increased performance, a LSD is well worth the money. The Quaife unit is by far the best, very strong and no wearing parts, it's all done with gears.
I run the JDM (from Jap MX3) LSD equiped 5 speed in my car. It was an absolute requirement to reduce torque steer. My car is much smaller and lighter than a probe. The Jap unit is a viscous type (at least mine is anyway). It is a sealed unit. It is grease filled (silicon). As the diff starts to slip the friction causes the grease to heat up and expand, this in turn reduces the slippage.
If I had the money I would buy the Quaife over the Viscous.
I feel the bigest improvement gained from a LSD is the improved manner in which power is delivered in the wet and on undulating road surfaces.

You have to buy the quaife LSD and fit, or have it fitted to your tranny. Quaife have a website I believe, they should be able to put you onto a supplier.

The Quaife for the PGT/MX6 is only available through Mazda Competition Parts since it was designed & built under an exclusive contract.
