Notice to new members intending to register - Effective 16 June 2009

Due to difficulties arising from issues with Yahoo!, we have changed our registration requirements:

• Users who wish to register with email addresses from yahoo.com will no longer be able to use them to create a new account.
• We have had long standing problems with this mail service, as a result of users flagging email notifications (for threads and/or posts they make) from ProbeTalk as spam, instead of adding the site to their safe senders list.
• We have also found that it is increasingly difficult to send out account activations to new users who have Yahoo as their email provider.
• We encourage anyone wishing to join to use an alternative email address provider such as hotmail or gmail, both of which are free.
