  • Just picked up a NX Express Proton kit

I was browsing Craigslist last night and came across what i thought was a super good deal.
a NX Express Proton kit for $200, the guy said he would deliver to where i live and today i have the kit in front of me!

I am excited about installing it, but i feel like this is something i should have a professional look over before i use it.

Are there any write ups of probe/mx6 specific installs?
Where is the best place to put the nozzle on our cars?
Where is the best place to insert the tee for the fuel line?

The kit did not come with a purge, is this stickily necessary, or can i get that later as i feel the need to?

---------- Post added at 03:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:16 PM ----------

I should also say, i have headers, test pipe, and mandel bent exhaust, i am seriously thinking about jumping on the Colt Cams BB this December, and would then get the SC/NOS cams.

Also, do our cars have a WOT sensor? (I have a 93, so its OBD1) and if not, what is the best WOT switch to get?

I have read the entire n20 newbie thread now, and i still don't have answers. I completely understand all the parts of the kit, and the various aspects of n20 usage, but the vehicle specifics are still very vauge. There are 4 wires coming out of the throttle body, which one should be used for the wot switch that came with my kit? I feel like we should have more information about this. A specific probe install thread would be sooo helpfull right now.

they dont have a WOT switch, what people have done to run N20 on these car is fasten a homemade bracket with a micro switch onto the manifold to hold the micro switch at a point that its triggered when the throttle body opens fully. Back in the day PRD made one, it was nothing difficult, just a thin peice of bent aluminum with a PRD etched into it.

The purge is for consistency and "cool" factor. If you plan to race regularly or want the cool factor then you should install the purge. If occasional use is all you are after you could sell the purge kit.

As for the fuel yes you can use the shrader valve for you fuel source.

WOT switch seems covered but you can order one on ebay like some have said or get one from radio shack and fabricate a bracket your self. Some put them under the hood and others put it under the peddle in the car.

The Nozzle should be directly in front of the TB and pointed at it also.

You should put one step colder plug the factory is a good safety measure. Helps make sure you don't have any detonation.

Two very nice additions for a nitrous kit are a window switch, bottle heater, and a convince item is a remote bottle opener.

Thanks guys! This has helped a lot!
My car threw me some new issues, including a fuel gauge that went form full to half empty overnight.
and what looks like high oil pressure, once i fix these issues i will start working on the nitrous setup!
