My dyno results

Hppe you guys don't mind 'other' cars being posted here.

I know there are quite a few fast turbo probe's on the site. I thought I would share some results from my latest dyno.

I don't have a probe anymore, but I still love and respect the kl engine and still like the probe body style.

I have a 2004 Dodge srt-4 with many mods, including:

ported head with oversized valves,
mild cams with cam gears
Mopar stage 3 turbo with upgraded compressor and turbine wheel
sct tuner
upgraded intercooler
3 inch exhaust

etc..

I made 479whp and 501 lb/ft of torque in my first run and 474 hp/493 on the second run (heat soak).

Here is the video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRXghfKxfJo

Here is the chart:

No Meth.. just on 94 Sunoco pump gas.

I was running 26-27 psi, falling to 22-22.5 psi with virtually no knock (maximum 1 degree of kr). AFR's were in the low 11's and timing advance peaks at 24.5 degrees. (8.1:1 compression ratio)

The boost falls off because I am using an internal wastegate setup with an adjustable wastegate actuator and can't seem to get a flat boost curve)

For some reason, when I went from the standard stage 3, to the fp green, I noticed much less knock. (less exhaust manifold backpressure from the bigger turbine wheel?)

The ported head and cams really helped my mid-range and top end.

The transmissions are pretty stout. They are actually sourced from a truck in Europe. It's not very smooth shifting, but can handle the power pretty well.

There have been a batch of bad trannies in the 2005 models which had 3rd gear issues, but mine has been pretty solid.

My block is stock (its an iron block with closed deck). The only thing I have done is cut the balance shaft chain (the plastic guides can potentially break at higher power levels)

Yes, its my daily driver. I even drive it in the winter.

Its a pretty cheap car to mod.

It really depends what you want out of the car. With the kind of power levels I am at, I would suggest AWD. As it is, I spin 3rd at will unless it's really warm out (75 degrees +)

They're nice & quick but the gas mileage on them isn't that great. I think my friend gets 20-25 on the hwy.

I actually get about 27 mpg on the highway, depending on how I drive.

I will be running the car at the track this weekend. Hopefully I do well and everything stays in one piece!

11.9 at 120 mph was my best run yesterday (2.0 60ft again).
Track was slick and there was a 30mph head wind. - St.Thomas Dragway

Had a good time, but wasn't the best conditions yesterday

We had a few cameras there taking video. I'll try and get some posted up soon.

On that 11.9 run, the vac line to the brake booster popped off at the 1000 foot mark... Was pretty scary not having power brakes and a hard brake pedal at 120 mph

Here is the 11.9 run. Head wind was pretty strong, (as you can see with the flags) causing most to have slower times than usual.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...ile_649293.htm

Wind + driver side tire pressure was a bit lower, causing some drifting action.
That, coupled with the no brake scenario made for some pretty intense white knuckle driving.

Sweet... Yeah, we went this past Saturday.. Wind was CRAZY, from the SW. St-Thomas is pretty close to Windsor ( 2 hrs), but the track prep is brutal. I was actually spinning second gear with my slicks.

Update:

Had a chance to run my car this past weekend.

Ran an 11.5 at 129 mph on a 1.97 60 ft. I think I could get it down a bit more with a better launch.

Nice run man.. what are you using for tuning?

My boy has one and he uses the dtec. He isnt has modded as you or anywhere near your power. I was telling him about your car and your times. Was that 11.5 on slicks?

srt-4 are ok cars i had 2 of them...partial throtle boost sucks and you need to get rid of half the vaccume lines, and yes the trannys are strong the only bad thing is that they break the shift selector alot but agp makes a after market billet alluminum piece....i never ran big turbo, just full bolt ons and spray...its was a high 400whp car (my second srt-4) and also made well over 500ft torque....but it never really hooked on the dyno, even strapped backwards with 20 psi in eac tire lol.....

Yes that was on slicks with about 11 psi in the tires (MT's on 24.5's X 8)
I am using an SCT tuner with canned tunes from AGP turbo to tune the fuel. Some people have not had success with this, but I have been ok so far. I am also running 750cc RC Engineering injectors. I am a bit too easy on the car during a launch though.

ZeChris,

You are right, I disconnected most of the vac lines and run boost off an MBC and an AGP wastegate actuator.

Part throttle boost was mostly an issue with stock turbos and aftermarket wastegates or ported throttle bodies, as the stock turbo is very small and spools very quickly.
