I would much rather drive a road course than the dragon There are all kinds of people out there, and getting stuck behind the Harley's sucks. But, it is fun if you've never tried it. Just be prepared to chew through tires and brakes...just like you would on a track

I think i have been stuck behind people maybe a grand total of 4 times in the dozen or more times ive been there. And I was behind them for no more 1 minute before they pulled into a pulloff and waved me by. With 318 curves in 11 miles, I can deal with going slow behind someone for 5 of them. If you absolutly insist on not running into traffic, go late at night when there is NOONE there. Your lighting better be up to snuff to do that though.

C'mon Greg, you're gettin' old (pot and kettle apparently as I just realized I'm exactly one year older). There were at least four that made it to every meet, though I only helped with the first one (remember the Sea Crest?) Hmmm....this probably also explains why I was not involved in planning future meets as well...:-)

I just figured that after 10 years, some had been permanently banned from all hotels w/in walking distance of Broadway so it makes sense to hold any type of event elsewhere next year. Seems plausible to me.

You were at all ten? If that's the case - first off I apologize for never realizing that, and secondly WOW!!! They've all been some fun, haven't they???

Well first of all I also want to say thank you to Ken, Greg and Jason and others like Matt and Pat and all the others who made Mytrle Madness happen over the years. Your true hardcore dedication to the love of the probe's and mx6's really has shown. I know I was only able to make it out to the last 2 Myrtle's, but the memories that I have will NEVER be forgotten. I feel blessed to have met sooo many kind hearted wonderful friendly people. As much as I want there to be a MM11, I understand why it must come to an end and on a high note for that matter. The era of Myrtle Madness has come to an end but the spirit will live on in all of us and other events wherever they may be?!

I know when I was talking with a few people over this Myrtle we got talking about well what if we had not bought a probe and instead a cavilier, civic, sunfire, corolla, escort, etc...? would our life really be the same as it is today...? When I think about this it makes me think of the bigger picture but also at the same time I cannot phathom what it would be like if I hadn't have gotten into the probe... it's kinda funny isn't it?? One thing I do know is that if you drive a probe or mx6 you're apart of a bigger family.

Not to take away from anything that Greg has said but I myself am looking to bring back NFF. What is this you say...? Well it's Niagara Falls Fury here in beautiful Niagara Falls, CANADA. Some members from NYPOC and NEPO know what I am talking about who have been around for some time. As they say Niagara Falls, Canada is like the Las Vegas of the north. There is plenty of attractions, casinos, hotels, restaurants and night life, especially on Clifton Hill. And there is also 5 major airports all in under 20-90 minutes away. There are some great things to see and do here and I would be looking to hold the meet in early May, probably about the 2nd weekend. By then the snow has been gone for a while and it's fairly warm out. I would also be looking at putting on a small car show with similar categories. So hopefully there is interest out there for this...?

Secondly, after attending the 1st Probe People Meet put on and hosted by Mario and some of the other AZPOC people, which was fabulous!! I must say I love the idea of it being soley what it is titled as a meet where probe/mx6 people get together and just have fun without the cars. Also as discussed while there that it be a moving event going from a different city and state each year and having different "POC's" host and put on the meet. This way it also allows the responsibility to be shared and have the meet be in say sunny California or Florida, Chicago, New York, Boston, Dallas, Nashville, Atlanta, Washington, Richmond, Seattle, or maybe even Hawaii, etc... This then also allows people to travel to differents parts of country that they otherwise wouldn't go to. I know if Mario hadn't hosted the meet I don't think I would have gone just yet, even though I had heard soo many things from my Dad and wanted to go there from when I was young. Seeing the Grand Canyon for the first time was a beautiful, erie and peaceful moment that I truly enjoyed as I watched the sun rise. So there is another idea also...?

So once again thank you to those of Myrtle Madness and may the spirit live on!

                  Greg et all etc etc

...It's over, may it die in a fire...

My one MBM (4) adventure I was declared a loser for ordering "vanilla" coke. Three months later it was a nationwide hit.

The best way to "immortalize" MBM is to kill it off, let it die, and never bring it up again; I totally agree with you Greg.

Heck I just went and bought a GTO, that killed off my memories :p

You give me a clear schedule of events, and something within a ten hour drive. I'd be down as I need to be able to be back at home base with in 24 hours of call back. Due to the military and family obligations, plus I hate flying.

i have 1 issue that stands out from the suggestion(s) so far...."carving the dragon" or however u wanna glamorize any kind of driving/cruising/tracking....u can not put that as part of the iten. i mean u can, but dont be surprise when the participation is minimal. i have in the past try to set up a "track" event to accompany MM, but with disasterous failure. why? b/c people drive hundreds/thousands of miles in a car that for the most part we all cross our fingers to hope just to get there and back in 1 piece. it will be a futile attempt to ask people to go pushing it any further beyond necessity.

i have to agree w/ squid, u have to think beyond the people local in the state and the few bordering states. and in this case, only ones i see supporting a TN locale are pretty regional. u have to take in consideration other activities. accessibility is key, driving is easy, but those who have to fly needs to be able to get there and back w/o always having to either rent a car (added expense) or bum a ride (inconvenience for both parties) also, hospitality, just b/c some people like camping doesnt mean that everyone does. i went to HH a few yrs back, tho it was fun, i couldve done w/o the "sweating my balls off" and the "not being able to take a shower for 2-3 days". u have to pick a good climate, where people from other areas are almost escaping their hometowns to show up, it has to be a vacation. ur not gonna drag me out of CA and go hang out in MN in jan. its all pretty much common sense......

id suggest out here in CA b/c there're always things to do, places to see, weathers good 90% of the year, easy to get to driving or flying, and up here we can even have a catchy name like "bay bash". but its location opposite of the east coast (where from MM participants are from) is a key problem, and on top of all of it, until i get done w/ school and have time to help organize something, i'm not gonna volunteer someone else to do it.

I drove 15 hours from upstate NY and hoped my car would make it back period. Let alone beating on it at the track.
