will these fit my 96 since the stock y-pipe is shorter/longer (can't remember which, but def. different) on the 96+ years? would the downpipe be different?

Not sure about the 96. We just offer them in one style downpipe. I know on my 97 I had to use a different testpipe but I did not have problems with the fitament other than that.
