      Downsizing for:

      1) Fitment
      2) Sound
      3) Practicality - 2.5" will support up to 340+ hp (per 'Maximum Boost'), plus many of the 300+ hp DSMs here have 2.5" exh. with little problem. Since I won't be running a cat anyway and th emuffler is straigt through, 2.5 will be enough for my HP goal (230whp).

        My addition.

        Might as well add mine:

        Garrett Airesearch T3 7psi
        External wastegate actuator/ plummed into exhaust.
        Stock cat, 2 1/4 piping, flowmaster (bad!! gets 11psi boost spikes)
        Turbonetics liquid/air intercooler core (3x6x6) with seperate system/radiator.
        Walbro in tank fuel pump 255lph

        217whp, 215 lbs.

                  The 14B was actually more than enough despite many peoples comments, I was surprised too, and has supplied more boost than the engine is supposed to handle anyway.

                      This is a great thread and would probably answer a lot of questions being asked today. I for one wanted to know alot about this all along. granted 99% of your setups have evolved and changed entirely, I wanted shed light on this for other ppl that are new to the F.I. world on PT.

                      Here's my busted junk setup

                      Was using:
                      24 year old Ford T3 .48 hot/.60 cold @ 5 psi w/ internal wg
                      front mounted 1st gen probe IC
                      12:1 FMU
                      stock injectors
                      255 walbro pump reg pressure
                      1.75" collectors mergine into 2.25" up to turbo
                      2.5" dowpipe all the way back to the tailpipe
                      ngk 7's
                      2" intake piping
                      DSM 1G BOV
                      Going by 1/4 ET's and MPH I had around 207 whp non intercooled @ 5 psi


                      I will be adding a custom FMIC 26" long x 12" tall
                      and pending my refund from my defective T3/T04E I will be getting a new turbo
                      Adding a cheap 7th BMW injector to spray @ 4 psi and above as a safety net
                      possible adding a brain to the equation so I can figure out why I keep spending money on a probe

                      Anyway there are a lot of new guys that have been boosted since this was started so add on and lets hear some more specs and numbers.

                              Garrett T3/T04 internal wastegate set to 7psi
                              Turbo XS BOV
                              Walbro 255
                              Vortech 12:1 (on the way)
                              Autometer Phantom gauges
                              1st Gen SMIC (not on thinking of buying bigger one)
                              2.5 inch downpipe and up pipe
                              Still need good exhaust
                              And i have major exhaust leaks right now causing no boost, that should be fixed by the weekend.
