Well, started the car earlier, heard a pop, smelled smoke. Amp shorted and fried the sub. Dammit.
O.o yikes, you have the worse luck with amps apparently

Well, heres the temp setup for now until I can find another amp and decent sub. SPL something or other 4ch amp and a wimpy Pioneer 12. Have a lead on a RF 1000w amp and some decent subs that a friend has. I think next summer I want to attempt a fiberglass box. Always wanted to try it.

Also, im picking up a good G4 bottom end that I might build as a spare. Just mild S-rods/ Weisco pistons combo. Probably stay with the 10:1 but I might port out some DE heads

Installed the 4 channel Infinity today. Sounds spectacular. Cant wait till I can gather the funds to upgrade the sub and sub amp. Before that though Im going to get a 1/2 DIN 9 band equalizer with 9V pre-outs so I can ditch the headunit all together. For now it will get the job done.

Crappy pic. Sound is absolutely fantastic. I wish I would have done it years ago. Def need to work on refining the mounting.

I was a little annoyed a few weeks ago when someone made a comment that dumping "tons of money into you car (speaking on car modification as a whole) is pointless." Ive been wracking my brain trying to come up with a dollar amount on how much I have spent on it. I even threw in an extra $500 into the list for "extras" that I cant remember. So far the total, which includes the cost of purchasing the car itself, comes to $4030. Over 10 years. Thats a pretty damn cheap hobby if you ask me.

Bumping the fuel pressure today. 280cc @55 psi should be very close to 320. Def going to need lager injectors. ...or turn down the boost.

Had an odd problem pop up again the other day. It was about 40 degrees out and after a very moderate cruise on the highway at about 65 for 45 minutes, the temp started creeping up to about 215. I got to my destination and popped the hood. Fans were running but there was no heat in the radiator (no/little coolant flow). Coolant was full and no air is in the system. After letting the car sit off for about 10 minutes, I restarted it and the temp dropped rapidly and the radiator warmed like normal. I believe the colder air is cooling the radiator too quickly and causing the thermostat to close, and letting the car sit allowed the heat from the block to open the thermostat back up. Ive noticed this dozens of times over the years and it still makes me uncomfortable every time it does it. Im thinking of drilling some extra bypass holes in the thermostat to help alleviate the problem but Im open to suggestions.

Well, for the first time since ownership, i've decided to go ahead and park it for the winter. Was just going to be for a few days while I was out of town but while backing the car into the garage, I realized I had a pretty bad oil leak from the front crank seal. Needs to have some other maintenance and cleaning up done anyway so she is now parked. Might even pull the engine to do some uber cleaning of the engine bay.

Got mine into storage, just in time. We got snow and then they sprayed the roads with that liquid de -icer which you have to scrub off, UGH!

So I'm going to pull the motor for sure over the winter. Been thinking of what else to do while its out besides cleaning the engine bay. Thinking wire tuck. There's plenty of stuff that isn't plugged in anymore and can be eliminated. I think I have everything to make a 3" DP too.
Okay so I guess Ill start a list of things to accomplish this winter.
1: Pull engine/ fix leaks.
2: Wire tuck
3: Install flawless dash
3.1: Relocate center console buttons
4: Pull LC-1 Install AEM wideband.
5: Mold 2 gauge pods to go on top of steering column
6: 3" DP
