Last Sundays race MX-6

Here's a clip from yesterdays race.. I've shortened it by 12 or so laps as it stayed pretty much the same...

Its a Lotus Elise.. The guy didn't make a mistake as I kept him under pressure for 15 laps...

Here are a few photos of the car now...

you changed the rims up huh?

great driving as always...

& for being an all track car you havnt had many mechanical issues have you? (i think i asked you a while back & i was surprised by how little your problems have been)

i think many on these boards could learn a thing or 2 by watching you drive

Hi, I think I had those rims on last season.. I've been lucky for sure.. Going on for 4 year of track action and no mechanical issues... Hopefully mentioning it out loud won't bring that to a sudden end.. Although I have just rebuilt the engine a month ago as it was a little down on power...

Thumbs up

As always you do awesome in the turns. Do you still have plans to supercharge it? If so you'll be unstoppable in the straights as well.

You are a huge inspiration to many here on PT, including myself.

No plans now to supercharge as I am limited to what size engine I can run and forced induction is calculated as 1.2 times the engine capacity..

You can see my slow start from this guy behind me in the mini.. Interesting commentary..

Thanks.. Its a ZE, lightweight flywheel and the rear box is just a cheapo eBay job.. Just happens to sound OK.. It also helps having a fresh engine of course...

very very happy to see another one of you and your cars fine track work again.

Is that a cooling system tub I see in the passenger side? Also for your fire extinguisher system, where do you have the nozzles located in the engine bay? how many nozzles did you place?

Fast on the track, and still tough enough for the streets. Are you a CityRacer?

Thanks... That's a foam helmet holder or a battery on its side.. Two extinguisher nozzles.. One on the center console and one on the bulkhead approx just below the throttle position.. Here's a photo from the other side..

I'll take a photo of the engine bay, but don't be expecting too much.. I'm not into bling...

Here ya go.. Told you not to expect much....

And the console with extinguisher nozzle...

were your front strut mounts rusted? Why the welded plates?

Hi, I had 5mm Steel plated welded to the top of the strut mounts to allow me to change the camber & caster at the same time by rotating the pillowball mounts to different angles.. Haven't had a chance to paint them yet...

Here's a better pic of them...

Nice car, always loved road racin. Just outa curiosity,I noticed a red fast-back in front of you at the start. Would that happen to be a 2.0L alfa? used to see a forest green one round here years ago.? now if your fellow racers could learn some old school manners about not slammin on the brakes & blockin in corners...Shameful practice that makes racin tougher, less of the gentlemen's sport it was in my day.

Not that exciting a car I'm afraid.. It was a Mini Marcos and a very oversteery one by the looks of it...Can't complain about the driving as its a race and anything you have to do to keep someone overtaking it OK, short of rubbing panels that is...

Yep, Have dialled in quite a bit of caster which I believe is a good thing, but I found I got better exits from the corners but the turn in was compromised a little.. But the steering feel is way better... I really don't have a good handle on the advantages/disadvantages yet... Need to do a bit more testing yet..
