What the hell is all this negativity about. A freshly swapped ZE was about even with a supposed high 14 second car. Who cares what he has in it? Its all about times, most ZE's run high 14/low 15 right after a swap. I say good racing, but real men race from a dig lol so get the tranny set up how you want it then do it over.

Doesn't Static have no PS? Less parasitic loss Also, driver mod matters too. Good job Dan, keep up the good work. So, the next motor swap is mine right?

If I forget any mods Ryan, I apologize.

MX-6:

Intake, Headers, 2.5" Exhaust, Stage(3?)Clutch/9lb Flywheel, Pulley, STS, and great driver mod.

My 93PGT with
KLZE swap, Intake, Headers, Magnaflow Cat, (stock exhaust with 2 cannons)STS, Upgraded Clutch and MX-3 Flywheel.

READ:
A year ago we raced and I had the SAME mods on my KLDE that I have on my KLZE and we raced about 4-5 times from a roll, and he got me by about 2 full cars.
His car at that time, based on his races, and buddies who have been to the track....was about 14.7-14.8. I ran a 15.2@92 when we raced, and he had me by 2 cars. High 14's sounded right.

Races from a year ago. Same 2 cars. Same mods...only I had a KLDE

So after the ZE swap, I wanted to see the difference and here is the outcome:
(mind you...I lost by 2cars before the swap)

This wasnt much of a drivers race. From a dig it would be for sure, but it was just flooring it at a certain speed and keep it floored. I didnt notice shifting making any difference in the outcome.
Kelderman your right about it being good for 1993pgttax cause he's now got a mid-high 14sec car and thats about right for a ZE. Were not being negative though, Its that we expected to see it different.
Kinda like if ya hired a specialist to do a job and a novice out performs them.
+1 on quality made vids.

I have a total of 0 I don't believe in sticker power...

Also, it was sort of a drivers race. In our last race Daniel didn't start even with me, so on third honk I didn't floor it right away, did you see the slight jump he had? It more or less a timing the honks for me, because he knew when that last one was coming. I'm going to the strip today, so I will see what I put down... Not that it matters, there is something wrong with Daniel's car, so mine is just slow anyways...

wow....what a lot going on in this thread after just one night of it being posted, lol

Just to clear things up...
I am running a kl36 ecu, and je-50 vaf.

The exhaust is getting upgraded to 2.5" tonite.

The cat is a high-flow magnaflow cat...no reason to gut it..

Ryans cars is very quick. It may seem I am running slow, but put me next to any other bolt-on DE and see what happens.

My car pulls ALOT harder than it did before, and yeah will move even quicker after the exhaust goes on this weekend.

Also to clear-up, that the cams were checked, heads were checked and they are both
kl31. I have a true ze, and timing is good.

Maybe that will help you understand how well ryans car runs.

he is heading to the strip today, and I would not be surprised if he ran a 14.6-14.7 with a good launch and his normal awesome driving.

i agree with kelderman, "dig" it

also i agree with timing, check it out, if the disty is held back itll act fine but there might be some retard in there, thats killing top end and overall "bite"....hell run some research on squezing extra N/A power by advancing the timing to its optimum setting (im advanced and my car thinks its cool)

while im thinking about it, whats the weight of trans lube you got? if it is overly heavy itll hinder the build of revs, therefore milking more power from the engine to spin the trans loaded with heavier than norm lube.

engine oil weight and all that too plays trivial effect but enough to hinder performance in so many ways

no. mx6 had full interior.

probe has no back seats.

and I will check timing, I suppose it could be set wrong. We never set it when we put it in, but by it running great. I assumed it was set right.

I assume you know your car, but it seems to me like your VRIS might not be functioning. The check valve on the ZE might very well be stuck due to it's age and time going unused.

Good quality vid btw

^^ Dude, your missing a LITTLE bit more than your back seats. You have nothing after the front seats.

JUST TO CLEAR EVERYONE UP

MY CAR
FULL interior, camera car, and I ended the races with 1/2 tank of gas.

DANIEL'S CAR
gutted not passanger. Not sure what his fuel was at, but I know for a fact it was well under mine.

There is a weight basis for you guys.
