Got home fine last night around 11:30PM. I think that is the last time I'm going to use the Auto-Transport, with the car tail heavy on the trailer it just wouldn't let me go faster than 60...

As for the Dyno I ended up helping Nate change his destroyed clutch in the parking lot. He manged to drive from Frostburg Maryland (Almost West Virginia) to the driveway of the Dyno facility and that is when the clutch completely gave out. Conditions were not the best but the time for a clutch/flywheel replacement with hand tools remained at 1 hr out, and 1 hr back in Pro-Bono.

I know they kept messing with the calibration on the RPM, they reset it 3 or 4 times and Jordan pointed out the RPM on the screen wasn't matching the RPM on the box. And then there was the whole deal Saturday. So I don't know what the actual numbers are on the car.

Some of the "corrected numbers" were to use .85, or 1.22, but the correction factor isn't a constant, since the Camaro should have been 422 and it made 356, but the Subaru(?) had just been on a Dyno-jet in spring at 480 and it made 318? Something wasn't right somewhere. Which is why I don't like Dynos. There isn't a constant The car had a screen plot of 200, the number read 283 on the bottom of the screen though. Correction factors put the power around 260-275, and the parasitic drag of the centrifugal (Dynamic) NOVI 1000 eats up a baseline of 50 crank HP Right off the bat.

But those numbers are just that; numbers.

I hit like 328ish whp on this dyno and hit 476whp 9months ago on a dynojet. I do think something was up with the car, but not that bad. Good time none the less and props to P3 for being lenient?!? with everyones cars.

Travis,

This is why I prefer inertia dynos like the good ole' dynojet. There is nothing to configure, there is no crazy load variables. It's just a measurement of how fast you can turn a heavy piece of metal, which makes them VERY VERY consistent from shop to shop. That is why they are still the baseline number. You will get arguments both pro and con for each type of dyno....the Mustang dyno while always reading lower than the dynojet is a FAR BETTER tool for tuning when setup properly. While Jason, Scott and Charles at p3 were very cool, they have a lot to learn about that dyno before taking on more tuning work using it. The load they where throwing on both rob's car and Matt's was very dangerous.

Travis, in addition to the weird tach readings, I believe your car was in 4wd mode :-/

Just go to a dynojet and put down your 250whp That is what the car feels like to me...might be more since there is a good bit of extra weight in the car and the heavy 19s.

The videos are on my laptop, I will try to get them up after I fix Andy's purge today and before work around 2.

Edit: Andy went home already, so I'm uploading videos now

The reason I say this is we put it 4wd mode to move the car over on the rollers. I do NOT remember them taking it back out of that mode.

I did 148, 147, 142 I think. Your number were much better which means I really need to get my MS in.

Andy did 158 N/A with his full ZE. Thats probably a pretty good comparison to what you did on MS.

Yeah, I had the video of the alignment, which is the first video I watched but on the next video that was a pull it was only the fronts... I thought for sure you were right when I seen that first video.

See I thought the same thing as you. I also felt it was fair me paying for an hour and a half as opposed to two hours because we were trying to figure out for an hour why my car wouldn't physically rev past 5000 rpms even thought it was making power.

Obviously I paid for my car to get tuned and Jordan couldn't tune it becuase he couldnt figure out that the problem was the dyno and not the car (he shouldn't have had to figure that out).

I apologize to anyone there on Saturday who heard me get into it with the one owner but I felt I was in the right and was told by many there that I was.

I'm apologizing to everyone because I was informed this morning that I was being an asshole about it and apparently should have just forked over extra money for not good reason, so anyway I'm sorry.

P.S. I'm also happy for Rob that the didnt have his car dynoed in third gear because with that added load he would ahve sheared the teeth!

P.P.S.

Charles you are an awesome guy and thanks for getting this dyno day going I also feel sorry for you that you have to work with that other a'hole! lol!

If I go by the 1.22 factor I made 270whp. That sounds more like it I think.

You put up a respectable fight to get what you thought was fair. That guy was just being a _______ in my opinion. The thing is, it's not like you were trying to get the entire session for free, only a half hour, which I would have figured was fair if I were in that guys shoes.

On the other hand, that guys shoes are rather small, I probably woulda been complaining about my feet hurting.

Jeremy

P.S. I got a lot of videos of your car Matt mainly because I was hoping to see something special happen! Nothing too exciting happened but I'm glad you made it home. I've selected a few of your better pulls and I'll try to get a few posted. BTW, check your vacuum line you had capped on the back, it might not be anymore and also you should get that hole fixed...

I went right before travis my car hit 200 horse and I think 255 torque. My car sounded like it bogged down alittle but I had no clue what to expect. Never dynoed before.

Haha yeah I should. It looked like a boiling teapot.lol!

Anywho I'll just have to get Jordan down again to tune it on a regular load. I suspect the load was causing the detonation but Ill have to fork out even more money to go to a different dyno to prove it. Untill then Ill drive around with little to know advance.

I'm rather upset Kylie didn't get your car, sorry dude. No biggie though, I was helping Rob get his car back going.

BTW I noticed something Rob... You have a fog light out on your passengers side. You might want to get that fixed

Jeremy

P.S. Matt, I said it was respectable but you really should have talked to just that guy rather than trying to get all of us involved in it as backup. You might have been able to make him realize your dilemma. Personally I had a bad experience with that guy too this weekend but it is what it is.

P.P.S. If anyone got some pics of the cars there on sunday (i was super busy running around helping Rob) please send them to me or give me links. I'm trying to put together a little video of some of the highlights. Thanks!

I was going off of what everyone else was telling me as well. Not to mention the fact that he got his nerdy butt buddy involved in the situation. Needless to say he almost got punched in the face!

No need to make anything personal. I don't need any reasons to not like you. I didn't like you before I met you, but that's because I didn't know you except on here, but now that we've met I don't mind you. Please don't further making an ass out of yourself.

Jeremy

P.S. I didn't realize that video was the one of your belt slipping Travis. It was the best of the 3 but upon watching it a few more times I understand now your reaction to the squeal lol

Jeremy..he was talking about Jason @ P3

Jason was much cooler the 2nd day after Adam and I really saved his ass for the first part of the day. He is nerdy, but has a right to be, having a PhD in chemistry and designing explosives for the Navy.

Travis rides 18's. Im the heavy 19s guy. Ill be switching to my old 16's for the winter since I **** up 3 tires this weekend.
Im looking at about $900 for tires for both set of rims and about $200 in repairs. I dont think Ill be able to get those brakes I wanted.
Sorry bout those rims Andy, the car looked so good.
