Hands down you are the man. Ya know I don't know you from a hole in the wall but I had a feeling when you got that gts and started selling parts off of it that you had something like this up your sleeve

Dan, you always were my biggest probe-hero. This proves the point! Not to mention I had tears in my eyes throughout the how-to.

Sooo. What's next on the to do list?

Out of curiosity, did you buy both the miata and probe specifically to do this merge??

Hmmmm. U should make a fwd kl powered miata! And sell it!!

my guess is a RWD KL

in this photo if you look thru the windshield sitting in the corner looks to be a KL mated to a RWD tranny

I think that i is your car you put whateva you want in it

the name of the game in racing is to kick azz and take names

I go to the track off and on and i see plenty Chevy's with Ford motors and many Fords with Chevy motors and they still call the car what ever it is

Dan put a Honda motor in it lol joking

Keep it Ford and place a Cosworth in it. Only 4 cilinders but a lot of hp!
And it has been placed in a MX5 before.

                        more evidence

no one notice the kl mated to the transmission drive shaft and rearend in this photo

Dude that is awesome! Sorry if this was mentioned before but what transmission is that? I had no idea there was RWD transmissions out there that mated up to the KL.

                            not a acutal mate,

you make a adapter plate and fit the KL to a RX7 bellhousing mated to a miata tranny

more clues to suggest a KL

the use of the miata drivetrain

if you was going v8 wouldn't it be better to use a Ford rear

the use of the miata drivetrain lets me know you are not looking for a lot of power maybe the 350 to 500 range

and also i conclude that this car will not be a drag strip type car even tho it will be capable of passes down the track

maybe the occasional street race or a little drifting

Would be beneficial at that point if you're using the RX7 bellhousing to just using the RX7 TII trans entirely if the KL will ever see much more than stock HP.

I am not sure but I think the RX7 tranny puts the gear shifter too far back and the miata puts it in the right place

don't quote me on this but I think thats the reason
