does he have oil in his car. this is to funny if he pulled the oil plug oil should come out, tell him to check his dip stick to see if there 's oil in his engine, he could also buy a pump and pump it out threw the dip stick hole, I do this every other oil change when I don't pull the filter, because I to lazzy to get under the car.
It must be 0° Kelvin where that guy lives. Even when extremely cold, oil will still drain when the oil pan drain plug is removed without the need to loosen the filler first. Granted it will drain a little more slowly but it will still drain.
Weird.
As Duncan said.......
Even at -20*F regular 5w-30 isn't as thick as 75w 90(<--when the 90W is at 85*F). Trust me I have had the unfortunate dealings with it.
If there is oil in his pan, I want ot know which bolt he is pulling to not get oil out of the pan?
Sorry for stating the obvious but maybe there is NO oil in the engine? Engine oil--or lack thereof--is nothing to mess around with so if your buddy is having trouble he needs to pay someone for help ASAP.
