Hello all,
I used to run a KLZE. I had 5 or 6 Mazdas in total. That was years ago.
I'm trying to help a friend with his 93 2.0L MX-6.
I spent some time with it tonight and I have some information, but no solution:
-Cranks, no start
-No codes. Pulling MAF plug yeilds a code.
-All fuses are good. jumped the engine ignition relay, no change.
-Disty rotor turns with cranking.
-No fuel or spark - although there is a weak spark when you stop cranking.
-Removing disty and spinning rotor by hand does run pump and injectors - forgot to check for spark.
- 12V on IG- in DIAG box - seems strange to me.
-Really weird voltage readings across injector (unplugged). No consistent GND or 12V on either pin. Voltage is really all over the place, positive and negative.
-No continuity to ground at IG-. Jumping IG- to ground yeilds a small spark at the jumper, but no change.
Since the voltages are weird on the injector and the IG-, I am thinking it must be a sensor ground issue, or an ECM.
Thoughts?
