      • Still trying to get it to start, it has been sitting in a warehouse for 9 months with multiple probelums. Is it just me or are these cars cursed?
        I think it's an obsession!

My last Probe was cursed. Every time I got it going something else happened. My current one has had a lot of little issues but nothing that wasn't easily fixed. It has been a dream to own.

              • Started piecing it back together. Someone took the time to pop the window, take apart the steering column and made an attempt to hot-wire it…..

                  • I replaced the fuel pump and then started the engine and moved the Probe under its own power for the first time since 2002. Today was a good day.

                        • Led switchback front lights and clear lenses. Also installed Escort/ZX2 shifter bushings in the front part of the linkage, (only works for the front.) [URL]https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCigknVBdNmfgS79G1QURTiw

                          • What did I do today to my Ford Probe?

                            I finally got it registered.

Ok technically I finally did this last week on Tuesday, but I've been sick and was on leave anyway, not much reason to drive. But today I actually commuted to work in it rather than short test drives around the house.

And you know what? It's still a great car to drive.

Except the steering ratio is too slow. I prefer the quicker steering of the Evo or even the Speed 6. Good steering feel though.

And trim pieces here and there are brittle. Which really sucks.

And it definitely needs lowering springs. The stock springs are just way too tall. I can practically fist the gap between tire and wheel well.

And really needs window tinting. Even a light shade, but high UV and IR blocking. I have this on my other cars and frankly I don't know what kind of primitive savage I was to not tint my windows in the past. Oh, that's right, the kind of savage with little money.

Anyway, the 9 years and 10 months of sitting around are finally no more.

                            • I didn't do it today, but over the course of a few weeks, getting ready for spring/summer, I have:

Changed timing belt, timing belt tensioner arm.
Installed new clutch, the original clutch was starting to get a little weak after 196,000 miles.
Replaced front main seal, rear main seal, those dumb cam cap seals, both axle seals.
                              Replaced slave cylinder
Replaced original thermostat + rubber seal with a genuine Motorcraft 82C thermostat.

The car is now completely leak free (for now) and is enjoying some daily driving duties while the Mazdaspeed6 sits.
                              oh, and I waxed it.
