loss of traction? The shortness of the gear? (as in time, not the gear ratio)
A properly set up nitrous system with throttle position switch (or better yet, a megasquirt controlled unit) is safe to run in any gear that can handle the torque load. 5th is just as strong as 3rd, it's just it's outside the case and may suffer from separation more than interior gears, so it is advisable to not spray 5th unless you really need to.
The steering wheel button set up should be an arming system and not the method of using the system as it was shown in F&F multiple times with "too soon junior". Anyone really knowing how it works would know that it should be used based on RPM/engine load and NOT as a sudden boost of power to win a race. If they would have been using it properly the car would have been way ahead.'94 teal w/black int. some sort of sts, 65mm DE TB full KL31 ZE, CAI, Phenolyc spacers, mx3 flywheel, pacesetter headers, 2.5" exhaust, stainless brake lines, MS and LC-1. Well right.... i always ran on a WOT switch with a window switch for safety. 1st gear spraying happened very often. No, it wasn't a Probe, but if you can handle the traction issues and know when to shift, spraying 1st is the way to go if you're after quarter mile times.1988 MX6 GT $2015 Challenge Car, 1990 MX6 GT DD/$2015 Challenge Car, 1993 Escort GT Broken Forever, 1993 Miata F2T Incoming, 1998 5spd Cherokee Sport Overland, 2000 Cherokee Sport Yum! I wouldn't ask such noobie questions here but NX hasn't responded to my email, and it's been 3 days.

put 2 wires on the switch long enough to touch battery terminals. Put one wire on the pos terminal and tap the other to neg...if it sparks, the switch is on. If it doesn't, press the switch and see if it sparks with the switch out...if so, then it's a constant on switch, otherwise you'll have to hold it to have it on. Then you'd have to check the wiring to the other switch to see if it has a separate power on wire as well as the engagement wire from that switch. If the throttle switch just has a pass through like the push button, then the system won't be armed unless the push button is engaged.'94 teal w/black int. some sort of sts, 65mm DE TB full KL31 ZE, CAI, Phenolyc spacers, mx3 flywheel, pacesetter headers, 2.5" exhaust, stainless brake lines, MS and LC-1. That's what I was wondering... So I could (wiring knowledge permitting) hook up a constant power switch, that would arm the system, but not fire it until the WOT switch was armed. Or vice versa... Arm the WOT switch and then hit the constant switch. I only ask because I want both hands free... For steering and shifting. Which I can't very well do if I have my hands on a button.

The higher in the RPM band you spray, the more of a "shot" you can get away with.
The idea is to NOT torque the rods up too hard, which WILL happen at low RPMs and high shots. 150 shot at 3000 is double N2O cylinder charge than a shot at 6000rpms, meaning in the latter case, the engine has two power strokes to divide the extra torque between rather than one power stroke at 3000rpm. Put your spray point as high in the RPM band as you can. Rev to fuel cut and you'll make more horsepower.95' 323C 'Neo' V6 BA23

No purchasing power yet been putting my money into parts from a custom Probe from a local salvage yard so far. Haven't been able to save up enough for the NX kit. I have been able to pick up some Hotshot headers, a Megan Racing rear upper tower strut bar, adjustable coilovers, and a few other things so far. Next up are the drilled rotors and brake calipers off the donor car. My rears are seized so it's time to replace them. The N2O kit WILL come though! I promise that.

Nitrous limits
50 w stock fuel pump
W upgraded fuel pump 75 is safe all day everyday
I heard the same about 100, but traction is a problem. The secret is launching and hitting nitrous switch at end of first. Invest in a bottle heater and your best runs will be on a full bottle. Have funBlack 95 PGT
