yup yup the car is sandalwood.

So what is your color code on the VIN sticker in the door? It's a 2-character code like "A8" or "F1".

I knew somebody with an LX with "A8" but I've never seen a GT with "A8" yet.

Your project looks like it's coming along well. I just stumbled upon my probe promo booklet. The 89GT never came in a "Sandalwood" color. Only:

-Black
-Oxford White
-Signal Red
-Crystal Clearcoat Metallic
-Deep Titanium Clearcoat Metallic
-Midnight Garnet Clearcoat Metallic

Your 89GT is "Crystal Clearcoat Metallic". If I had to guess, your 89GT is a well preserved "Crystal", your 90-92 LX tails are a very faded "Sandalwood" and happen to closely match.

Perfect! thanks for the info, going to have to get match on the color so I can get some paint mixed up. Ps, anyone have any solutions for a matching interior paint/dye? Need to paint a few things and would love a medium grey to match up.

Message Loghead over on PP. He gave me a spray paint make and number to get that will closely match my red interior of my parts car. You probably won't be able to get an exact match but you can get it pretty close.

The "SEM Colorcoat" is the go-to industry interior paint we all love. It's $10/can and holds up well to scuffs, heat, and sun:

Go to a local paint shop and take an interior piece with you to match up.

If you contact Sem, they will send you a color chart. At least they did when i asked. I have like 4 different charts they sent me for there different lines Its makes for matching colors much easier.

So deleted some really old pics and they seem to work again. Spent the weekend camping so not much has gotten done. Ac compressor condenser and lines are out. Ive began scrubbing the head, thing cover, block and bay area of all the grease and oil left over from the past 148K. I'll get some pics up soon. Exhaust should be finished up this week.

Turbo back is done, and installed, drilled and tapped 10mm exhaust mani stud to replace the broken one. New radiator, thermostat, hoses all around, installed catch can, cleaned the piss out of the engine bay. Ac has been completely removed. Runs well, still blowing some smoke but i assume thats the bad gas left over in the tank. compression is 121psi across the board, clean oil and coolant. Ill get a vid up once photobucket plays nice.
