  • Installing & Bleeding Clutchlines

    Installation of SS Clutch Line

    Tools Needed

    1. Jack Stand
    2. 3/8 Socket Wrench
    3. 8mm Socket
    4. 10mm Socket
    5. 10mm wrench

    Procedure

    1. Start by removing the drivers side splash guard 10mm and 8mm
    2. Remove stock air box or aftermarket cold air intake.
    3. Remove the clips that hold the clutchline in their brackets. Its a "U" shaped slip.
    4. Begin loosening clutchline, but don't loosen it all the way. Leave it attached but loose enough to hand loosen. Start with the top part of the hose near the battery tray.
    5. Once you have both loosened remove the clutch line and try to immediately plug the top line so fluid doesn't go everywhere.
    6. While trying to hold off the fluid install the SS clutchline in reverse order.
    7. Reinstall the "U" clips and reverse all other remove procedures. The "U" clips may be hard to get back on, takes a little bit of elbow grease.
    8. Now Bleed the clutchline

    Bleeding Clutchline

    Tools Needed

    1. 8mm Wrench
    2. Brake Fluid
    3. Bleeder Kit (Hose Needs To Fit Firmly Over Nipple Valve)

    Procedure

    1. Slightly fill bleeder kit bottle w/ clean brake fluid until the end of the hose is submerged in brake fluid (Note: This keeps the hose from sucking air into the line when the valve is open.
    2. Top off brake master cylinder with fluid.
    3. Place hose over bleeder screw valve
    4. Open bleeder valve and push down clutch pedal.
    5. Close valve and pull up clutch pedal.( Note: Be sure to do it in this exact order)
    6. Repeat step #4 & #5 about 5 times.
    7. Fill master cylinder fully again (Note: Always put the cap back on the master cylinder before bleeding the clutchline)
    8. Repeat steps 4-7 until the fluid coming out looks clean and clear of bubbles
    9. Be sure that bleeder screw is firmly tightened, but DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN.

Disclaimer: I will not be held liable for any mess ups during bleeding the clutchline
