What's a good amount of miles to get out of plugs, wires, cap and rotor. So far I've got less than a year and 8k miles, all was new and replaced at the same time. Hard driving. NGK plugs everything else was crap store brand stuff.

Also I may have a tiny bit of oil coming in the back of the distributor (95). There was some oil in the distributor, not in the cap mostly in the back of the disty and at the bottom of the coil electrode. I only saw some where the cap vents at the bottom and followed it back to the electrode. I'm thinking of completely degreasing it, resealing the coilpack in with black gasket maker. If the bearing in the back is leaking is that replaceable or, is this something I'll have to replace the disty for?

It is replaceable -but not an easy task by any means. I tried it once and gave up and just bought another disty.

Maybe I'll try to rebuild it as a backup after I replace it.

Plugs looked okay #5 had a little bit of oil in the well. Once I cleaned that no more full throttle sputter without messing with the distributor again. I'll keep tabs on the disty.
