i just saw one for $23.95. not too bad. i'll probably install one the next time i change the oil.

years ago i told my gf at the time to take her saturn to a goodyear where her brother used to work. it was right down the street, $14.95 for a change and filter and i didn't have to get dirty. i figured they couldn't screw that up. well she came back with a leak one time and i said take it back. they said she had an oil pan leak. i wiped the filter where the leak was coming from and saw oil dripping down the side. it was on tight enough, just a crappy filter. i bought a good one and the leak stopped.

that wasn't the first time they misdiagnosed something obvious on that car or tried to rip me off (quoted $500+ to replace a wheel bearing on my truck). i only used them for wheel rotations after that. i paid for an alignment and got free rotations for the life of the tires and figured i'd get every cent out of it.

Sounds familiar. Always hard to find legit shops who don't just try and make up stuff to get your business and money.

I'm about to pay for a corrective paint detail and sealant service on Wednesday on my car, along with tint. I figure since it sits outside most of the day I want to protect and keep my car from looking like all the clearcoat paint failure that's happening right now with my 2004.

Expensive, but I've seen the work they do and it's showroom good.

Optimum products. I've used them before but this is one of those permanent sealants that works for like 2-3 years. They have even longer running ones but $$$$

I walked into their office today and saw a corvette they were detailing and it looked way better than factory, so clean. Looking forward to seeing my car after its done tomorrow, even if it's supposed to be raining all week....

Got the detail back yesterday with the 27% tint and sealant, it took them all day to buff. Car looks much cleaner and theirs much less scratching. The bumper still looks like swiss cheese with all the rock chips but I might try filling those with a dr color chip kit.

Thanks man. I'd recommend getting that done for anyone that doesn't have time to paint correct their car or a garage and 6-8 hours, pricey but lasts for 2-3 years. The thing is so much easier to clean now, takes barely any effort and it feels like brake dust and other contaminants stick to the paint less.

Now I actually need to do some type of mods if Grimmspeed ever gets back to me about having exhausts in stock.

my truck may need to be painted (at least the front bumper and hood) after this hail damage that nearly totaled it. i might look into getting it protected by a local company if i get it painted. my Cobra needs a paint job due to typical '90s Ford Crystal White peeling. 95% of the car looks good and i hate spending a ton of money when only small areas are chipping, but i know it will get worse and no one wants to paint match.

Nope, changed it a while ago. I actually sold one of those cars, but then bought a newer version so I was able to keep it the same. Efficient!

"Why did you buy the same car? Didn't you already have one of these?"

"Eh, I didn't feel like changing my signature on PT so it was just easier this way."

Yesterday I was driving in Ladson and I noticed a slowdown up ahead in my lane so I got over to the next lane. Apparently a large motorhome was towing a probe gt and either the tires on it were worn out or rotted, they were shredding and throwing up rubber everywhere. I honked at the motorhome but it continued driving. By the time he noticed and pulled over, sparks were coming from the probe gt.

Pretty funny considering that's the first time I've seen a probe in quite a while.

Motorhome owner probably was moving and tried to give away the probe but nobody would take it. Finally someone on PT offered the guy to pay him $500 and deliver it and he would take it

$500 is way too much. I've never seen anyone with a probe scrounge up $500 unless it was for a turbo kit

You'd be lucky to give it away for free on craigslist, easier to get those guys who do cars for cash and recycle it for metal ... sad as that is.

Yup. Sad indeed. Definitely a car that got a bad rap and never caught on like it should have.
