                For some reason I had hell of a time making pilot holes in stainless tube, ended up going through about 4 drill bits. Last one was cobalt bit, it dulled before making the first hole, I re sharpened it on a bench grinder(the best I could on 1/8" size), I must of put some special angle on it because it cut my 4 pilot holes like it was a mild steel.

                  The only thing I'm thinking... It'll be tough to replace that valve cover gasket once it's all done

                    The whole engine will be rebuilt once I finish fabricating everything. With this layout, it won't take much to pull the engine forward for major maintenance.

                      Got intake tacked up and ran out of purging gas, it's almost done just gotta fit the injector bosses.

                          Got a boat, it's 1988 Bayliner with ford 2.3( looks like I will be adding turbo set up from 80's turbo coupe this upcoming winter). Weather been really nice past few days, so looks like there won't be much weekend progress on RX-8.

                              Damn that is excellent work?

                              Judging by your welding and fab work, I'm guessing you're an engineer? Or a certified tech at least?

                              Either way, I'm liking your designs for the exhaust and intake manifolds!

                                Yeah I'm an engineer, grinder and paint makes me welder I ain't. welding stainless is more like welding Titanium, If I knew that I will be getting TIG for this project(I was planning to get by with my MIG) I would of went with Aluminum on the intake manifold.
