  • 1994 Ford Escort V6 2.5 BUILD

Ok so this had been in the talks now for a little while between me and Sean whether i should or not Build it and i decided to just go ahead and do it. Sean suggested before anything goes down that I have all my information on point so now this Escort is a BASE model and has a 1.9 SEFI Motor and it is a 5Speed. Im wanting to put either a KLZE or KLDE and I need to know if any of you have any information as to what I will need to know as far as any custom work or parts i may need to make this project possible. The Escort is gutted with nothing but a Dash and 2 seats (lol) so its light and should pull out some good numbers (hopefully). So any suggestions or help with this is greatly appreciated. This project is not only for just me but for those that said "Dude its only an Escort" "what could it possibly do?" lol so lets show them. Thanks for any help that you can provide.

I was about to say that myself, Get yourself an Mx3 parts car and your all set. What you don't you i'm sure you can sell it. Just make sure it's the v6 model.

For all the money and effort why not go with the KLZE. I think it's only a difference in vacuum lines, EGR, and ECU between the 2.

the ze would be best, and if you just get the ze engine, it will have everything you need. A standard de computer will power the ze, but it won't have the right virus point, which can be solved one of two way, either with the right computer, or with window switches from msd, or you can tie them open....

Actually you don't need the mx3 subframe. You can do mx3 LCAs or a set of 88 rx7 balljoints(that's what I'm going to use with my kl swap in my protege). If you're that gutted grab the dash harness and engine harness from a mx3 v6. Also grab the cluster. Not sure how well it will work in the escort dash though. Besides that you'll need the following

                          Kl
                          Kl trans
                          Mx3 axles
Mx3 motor/trans mounts. Aslo need the chassis braket for the pass motor mount
                          Mx3 shift linkage

And then you'll need the heater hoses, ect. Not sure what radiator you are thinking about using but the probe rad is huge and you'll need to massage the rad support a lot. I'm personally going with a 3 row civic half rad. Some say it won't be enough to keep it cool but I think it will. You can also do like shawn and run a 95 neon rad or dan [sac] uses a scirroco rad. Both of those you can get in all aluninum dual core for 200-300. Hit up clubprotege. There's a lot of info there on the swap into the bg chassis. Also best bet is grab a millenia intake manifold because the straight neck will come close to hitting the brake fluid resivoir.

I considered doing a KL escort a few times. Cool swap.
