Yes -KLG4 sensor and cam wheel. I put the sensor in for future provisions so that I wouldn't have to pull the wheel or re-accomplish cam/belt alignment. The JDM didn't have a crank sensor and had a plastic cover. Now it has a crank sensor. Unfortunately -there isn't a LSD but there are plans for something else in the future.

Fantastic work! That engine is just beautiful...

I forget or maybe it was never stated; what's the intent with this car? The ample usage of sound deadening suggests immaculate daily driver.

Not quite a daily driver! This one is destined to be my test hog replacement. I lost my my MT red probe a few years back when I hydroplaned and wrapped it around a tree.

I now work from home and so I have no commute other than fetching groceries once and a while or running to the auto parts store. And my wife bought a 2012 MT Mazda 3 -which is a total gas miser. She tried learning to drive the MT a few times and has about given up trying. I think she also decided that she likes the more equipped Mazda 6 with auto and so she may be looking to change and give the 3 to me. So my probes have become purely entertainment driving machines.

The ample usage of sound deadening is because I like to hear more music than road noise. I have another probe which is a lightweight version and sans sound deadening.

It is almost ready to drop in. I just have to go back over the bolts once again to check to make sure I haven't forgotten to torque one or two. The last thing I need is for a camshaft pulley to fall off with the engine running.

I have had problems in the past with the cold air intake chaffing on the starter and so this time I have anchored it to the starter with a piece of old primary coolant hose cut then slit and wrapped part way around the starter motor for cushioning and zip-tied it in place. Then I anchored the cold air tubing in place against the rubber with more zip ties around it and going through one of the ones on the starter. I cinched them up good and now the CAI is anchored well in place.

I have standalone on the shelf. That is one of the things to try out in the new test hog. But I want to get it running first. It was quite a bit of work to transform electric back into gas engine. Lots of wiring repairs, lots of sheet metal repair and lots of removed parts replacement.

So the main goal at this moment is to put it back into 100% working -and then playtime will come!

Yes there is -and it has vents so that you can keep the glass top open and get some circulation without the sunburn. It is a shame the company went out of business. They did good work on a lot of cars (other than Probes).

1) Routing and Connecting engine bay harness

2) repairing a few wires inside that were modified (hacked) for the electric conversion

3) Suspension pieces (currently debating installing the Mazdaspeed 6 rotors/calipers or sticking with standard since I have a full set of yellow zinc plated cross drilled and slotted rotors) I kind of would like to save the 6 stuff for the blue car restoration

4) Engine bay detailing (in work -to include replacement of much of the engine bolts as possible with restored zinc plated bolts)

5) Mounting of HEI unit with proper grounding to chassis

6) Finishing out the fuel system and mounting the tank (which already has a stealth pump installed)

7) Exhaust!

8) Tires

9) Re-installing seats

That is just the list to get it running. However, it will never be finished because there is a never-ending list of things that I want to do to it and also to try out on it.

Got my Mach 1 lip installed this weekend. Nobody ever mentioned how difficult it is to install them. I think if there isn't one -I should make a How To! But I like it a lot because one of my bumper mounting tabs that ties in the corner at the wheel well -was broken off and when I mounted the lip to it and picked up the 10mm bolt attachment hole from the missing tab -it became secured once again! I used the included mounting screws to both sides of the bolt (forward and aft towards the wheel well) and with one even near the very ends of the lip.

I also didn't know about how the bumper had to be notched due to the uneven surface near the edges of the OEM air inlet and the difference in radius towards the front corners -and how that also required notches to allow the lip to have a larger radius and match up with the Probe bumper radius.

It was also very difficult to find the center of the lip to line it up on the center of the bumper. It took me three attachments to get it close enough so that any non-symmetry would never be noticed.

I plan to finish it off with a good bead of black silicone so that junk will not get wedged between in the small crack. The Mach 1 lip looks so good and so OEM for a Probe. My wife asked me what I was doing underneath the bumper and I told her that I was installing the lip and then pointed to it. Her reply was "oh -I thought that was part of the car -it just looks like it came that way". That is the reply that I like to hear.

Thanks!

Here are some shots of the underside for the lip installation.

Picked up bolt hole to compensate for missing bumper mounting tab:

Notches that I had to make for the two to conform to each other:
