    i want to know if water temp is the same thing as ( engine temp )
    cause on my autometer it says im running at like 200-220 and i just flushed the coolant and put a new thermostate in >?????

      So does your gauge just say "engine temp" and read around 200? If so, that's definitely your water (coolant) temp. The actual engine, like the combustion chamber and stuff, is probably running a bit hotter :smile: But 200 is about right for coolant temperature.

        The coolant temp gives you a good idea of the engine temp because it runs through the motor and directly affects its temperature. But strictly speaking your gauge can only measure *coolant* temp per se.

        Don't forget that your gauge could be wrong. You can test the temp at the rad cap with a thermometer. A mechanic can do this for you but I've heard you can even do it with a meat thermometer. (your turkey might taste funny at Thanksgiving though!)

          my gauges are calibrated and all ....... nothin less then auto meter goes in my car ...
