So, managed to save tak's (mx6.com) old car from the brink. Really only after the turbo goodies. Has a full ic pipe setup, vibrant couplers, 3" ic core, gfb bpv recir'd. Someone blew up the gt28r on it at one point and the later owner had welded a flange...over that flange for a t3. There's a vband 50 trim t3 on there as of now. Guy never finished it, sold it, to someone who sold it...now I own it! N/a block few other pieces, original hks exhaust, pretty beat don't think it's salvageable. Anyways I'll be parting it out after I take what I need! So big turbo plans over the winter!

Maybe not right now, car makes plenty of power for me, might out the turbo away fora rainy day and just install the piping. Picked up a couple couplers to install with the stock turbo in place. Might try to get it on this weekend.


Probe will become my daily driver for a few weeks while the Fiesta is in the bodyshop

Was driving the probe daily since my fiesta is in the bodyshop...




But then the alt decided to fail, and I was experiencing some weird voltage/electrical issues. Decided to do an alt as well as upgrade all my engine/transmission grounds and battery cables to 2/0 Gauge marine grade wire and terminals.


While I was in there I took a stab at installing the intercooler pipes I got with the mx6. Fitment isn't great, but workable. Some more tweaking is needed but looks like it will all go together with some additional trimming.

Battery is also getting relocated in the process since I had planned to do that anyway. Some pics from this weekend:









Still needs another few days of work but should be back up and running for a NH white mountain trip I have planned few other friends.

Waiting on a narrower intercooler and a lightweight deka gell battery to show up and install/overhaul will be complete.

Install complete. Slight amount of lag on spool up but pulls much harder to redline. Going to try to get it on the rollers for a low boost (10-11psi) and high boost (15-17psi) dial in. Then over the winter I think only things left are dual valve springs and a cam regrind. Other than that I'm more than happy with how the car performs!

Love this car and that front mount kit makes it even better.
I need to dial in my fuel setting in boost in mine as well, but that's next years goal...

Just read this thread...twice! A lot of inspiration to be had here! I am picking up my 89 PGT tonight.

I love how you did the suspension and handling mods before even worrying about a bigger turbo what are the most important mods you can do to get better handling out of this car?

Also if you don't mind me asking, what is your suspension setup and what was the size/spacing on the xxr's? I love the stance!
