Led lights

I left my park lights on for around 8 hours yesterday, I turned them off when I discovered the mistake and this morning the car started up with no jump. Pretty sure incandescent bulbs would have run down the battery. So aside from the look, I'm happy with the switch.

The three problems I've had with LED lights are finding quality ones that don't burn out in a few weeks, don't have the polarity issue, and don't cost significantly more than old filament bulbs.

Now that I'm putting miles on my 95 PGT after 10 years of sitting, it's the little maintenance things that are just pecking away at me, and replacing the bulbs isn't one of them.

While they were more expensive I haven't had one burn out yet. I did however leave the lights on for a second time, still no problem starting it.

I've purchased cheaper amber parking lamps before that failed after three weeks. I also have more expensive name brands, but they have polarity issues and were definitely pricier. This is on other cars where I had to replace the bulbs. I'll probably replace the incandescents with LED on the PGT as they start dying, but not before.

Certainly it's the way to go if your bulb is dead, but for the most part not really worth the price and effort unless it's needed.

I'd go into more length explaining about the polarity issues for those who would say "it's not THAT big a deal, just flip the bulb," but in several situations it would have been a headache either way, to figure out a way to determine the polarity or risk a 50/50 toss up and then have to start the work all over again. Just easier to put in a quality bulb and not give it another thought.

My front markers have switchback LED's and ebay clear lenses. They're white with park lights and blink yellow for the turn signal. They are my favorite out of all the bulbs changed. From the driver's seat you can see them blink at night, and if both headlights went out they light up enough to see clearly on their own. Without being harsh on other driver's eyes. The LED's I put in the foglamps aren't even as good. So yeah it can be hit or miss. Switchbacks with a modified flasher, I'd do it again.
