      That's a big difference.

I think the next question is if anyone has a bolt-on ZE and has topped out one of these setups.

I get 2600-2650 rpm @ 60 and 3k @70 which is what most of the 90's cars have. top speed should be somewhere around 155mph

What ever year has the same looking tranny as probes(except for the bell housing) would work, I started on 94 escort(boxy) but after I popped the cover I couldnt get the gears to lock up so I can unscrew the nuts, then I went to 97+(round looking) and the gears looked the same so I got them. Both cars had SOHC engine.

                  I would think a 4.11 with Escort gears would top a lot higher.....considering a stocker 4.39 is doing 155 @ 7500 rpm, a stock 4.11 does 166 @ 7500 rpm.

There's a thread on it here somewhere.

I have had this in every transmission that I have put in my car, so...5-6 years now? Good write-up. I usually put the car in gear, then remove the pin from the shift fork then engage 5th. This in effect locks up the transmission so it is easier to bust loose those nuts on the end of the I/O shafts..but w/e method works.

You can also use n/a 2.2 1g 5th gear, or a festiva 5th if you REALLY want a big drop in rpm..but I found that the festiva gear is overkill and makes any sort of acceleration tough at highway speeds in 5th..

                        I was thinking more of 155 @ 6.5K LOL

I really like this gear, I still drive around town in 5th 35 mph @1.5K RPM and I can still accelerate from that in 5th.

                          @ 7500 maybe 170-ish

the Festiva 5th has to be sky-high, it's made for an engine that turns 5 or 6 grand max, and has 12 or 13" wheels.

I would think you would need boost almost to top out a 4.11 with Festiva 5th, or a wicked N/A build.

it should be 173 @ 7.5k or 163 @ 7k, according to KLZEPorsche's site, you need 382 hp to hit 160 mph in a probe.

maybe 182 and a long road! 382 would do over 200 in our cars

                                Good stuff, thanks.

Can someone in the know list the exact years/make/engines that you can get the PSE/Escort gear and Festiva gear from?

Also, what kind of real world highway gas mileage improvements might this provide?

                                Thanks
