They do show temp differences on their website, I do not doubt them. But a temp difference between the head intake port area and the IM runners would be a good comparison. The hood is still going to trap a lot of heat in the engine bay, contributing to heat soak also.

A well placed hood vent will keep the IM temps down...

Been working on the Focus so I can get my DD back, and start working on the Probe again.

The Focus was considered TOTALED by the insurance company. Paid me $3600 and I bought it back for $700. Spent $230 in parts from Rock Auto, $100 for junkyard hood, and $200 for A/C cond., Rad, and fan assembly. Just need to finish up bolting everything down and get it inspected for salvage rebuild title.

I like to see pics, so I decided to post them in hear instead of making a new thread that no one will care about anyway...

The new grill isn't on yet so I can adjust the hood latch, and the hole in the bumper is from the other cars exhaust tip. I can live with that for now, just need to get a cheap repaint on the hood.

Now I can get back to Probe stuff...(with extra $$$ in the bank from the pay out!)

Not a bad deal, fixed your car and got some spare cash left for the Probe!

I dont think they do this in Canada, with letting the owner buy it back. Which really sucks! But I have no experience, Im just going off what my dad and uncle have told me - theyve been in the auto industry for well over 20 years now.

your insurance works pretty quick, My girlfriend got in a minor accident last year and it took four months to get paid. It was ridiculous. Anyways you received a pretty good deal. I would have done the same thing and used the remaining money for your turbo build

I so proud of this guy, push comes to shove he got it done. And surprising enough that hood he picked up at the j/y fit in the back of the probe?

Hmm, the good ole W/A intercooler myth... why do people think that W/A intercoolers get heat soaked but never say that about A/A intercoolers? Small, stock OEM W/A setups, are known to have problems and are upgraded, but so are most stock OEM A/A setups.

W/A intercoolers have very low pressure drop, less that 2' of intercooler piping, when not under boost the intercooler(along with the front heat exchanger) is also cooling the water, when the car is not moving the fan is cooling the water, water draws out heat better than air...

I doubt that they are useless, if someone like Nelson Racing Engines use them on their 1000-2000HP engines, as do others...

all those w/a intercoolers you posted are on rear engine rwd/awd cars..... is that what your really planing to do with your probe.......

I have had other things going on that have taken up ALL my extra money. I haven't done much with my turbo build lately. I've been waiting to get the car smog checked(this month), then I'll have two years until I need to do it again.

Here are a few updates. There still needs to be some modifications. Need to cut the "U" bend to length, and weld on the flange for the BOV. Reposition the WG tube, weld on the the WG flange that has the threads for the studs, and add on a tube to dump the WG into the down pipe. Buy some new couplers and aluminum elbow to the TB(replacing the silicone elbow with AL elbow for IAT and Meth nozzle).

                Here is a quick mock-up...

So did you ever figure out what bolts you will use to hold the turbo T3 flanges together? WHat a dilemma........

                          What's in YOUR dining room?

Quick and dirty mock-up going on. Want to make sure I have everything I need before I have the turbo pipes modified and coated.

Which parts are you interested in?

                              Few minor updates...

                              Oil Feed:
                              3/8"/-4AN adapter, (2)12" -4AN hoses (1 w/ 90 degree), -4AN/-4AN adapter, FP Turbo Oil Filter, -4AN/1/8" adapter w/ .063 restrictor.

                              Oil Drain:
30" -10AN hose, -10AN/1/2" adapter, T3 Oil Drain flange. (When I measured for the drain hose, I measured from the bottom of the turbo to where the bung would be on the oil pan. 30" I didn't take into account the length of the fittings, adapter, and flange. I think I need to shorten the hose an inch or two?)

I ordered custom built to order oil lines from ATP Turbo. I thought I was ordering these...

... but, received this type instead. At least now I have the option to shorten the hoses, or use the fittings on a longer hose.

I have more parts for the Water/Air IC arriving on Thursday.

Looks so beautiful, wish my wife would let me have an engine stand with a probe motor on it in my dining room. Garage is getting colder and colder.
