  • Spare Transmissions

I need to get ahold of some spares for a Chump/WRL build. Anyone having any luck finding these in junk yards these days? Should I expand my search to Protege , MX3, Escorts and 323’s? I know the MX6, 626, and Probe unit work. Seems like everything in the JY is auto.

MX3 (V6) will fit. I don't think the others will. But this thread says the internals from an escort can be swapped over: https://forums.probetalk.com/showthr...p?t=1701135767

I have 11 Lemons races on my Probe, and we're still on the stock 130k+ mile trans ( we bring our one spare trans to every race, never needed it! ). You probably won't need more than one spare. Prot

ege, Escort, and 323 won't fit.

I did the Road America WRL race in my friend's Celica with a 180hp Ecotech engine ( which runs slightly faster times than my Probe ) and we were the fourth slowest car at the race. There's some seriously fast cars in that series. I'd think you'd need a bit more hp just to get to mid-pack at a WRL race. Good luck with your build!

Welcome back Rocko! Sadly it's pretty tapped out in our area from my searching.

The guts from any gbox swap into ours. It's all in the trans thread

I found a few on local junk yards. I’m going to try and pull one soon and then locate an MSP diff if I can find one used, have it welded , etc.

WRL classing might be tough. If I can stay in GP3 it won
