  • MSD adapter

Does anyone know if there is an adapter for the MSD 6a for the 2.5L? I installed one in a friend's probe and we had to tear apart the distributor and cut a metal strip and solder a wire to it to attach to a different location. Anyway, I am going to put an MSD on my 2nd gen PGT and I'd like to avoid surgery on the distributor. Can anyone give advice?

yeah....doesn't the idea of cutting up your distributor and gluing a post in the hole sound just great? well, I guess it would be pretty nice when it was all done.

Say uhh... is there another set of install directions somewhere besides performanceprobe.com? The ones on that site call for using the internal coil rather than an external one. I'd kinda like to use an external one just for the heck of it.

              Ah well, Thanks..

use a Klze cap..they had external coils.

I believe someone is selling them in the bulk buy section

                take a look

The ZE cap will not fit. You need the ZE disty too.
                  I don't post here anymore.

I already have a modified 03 cap - is that all it takes? Wire up an external coil to it (pull out the internal coil? is it needed to support the rotor shaft at all?) and then use the same wiring diagram as seen on performanceprobe.com?

I think the internal coil is still required for the car to operate. But you are just jimmy rigging in an external coil that actually powers the spark.
