If I leave the car for more than a day and a half I have to jump start the bitch. The battery is totally dead. The car charges fine and runs as well as can be expected for 316,000 kms. Would it be just a need for a new battery or is something draining it when it sits? I don't want to spend money on a new one for the same thing to happen. Thanks!

To check for a battery drain, disconnect the negative battery terminal, and put a multimeter, set on amps, between the negative terminal and the disconnected battery lead. It should read less than 0.05 amps.
Of course, a really cheap and simple method, if you don't have a multimeter, would be to disconnect the battery, then see if it holds its charge and can start the car a day or two later. If it does, it must have been some drain. If not, it must be the battery.
Or, ask Canadian Tire to test it.
