  • Exhaust stuff (MX-6 Exhaust Fit probes?...and more)

Ok, I came to the board tonight to ask if the Greddy Evo exhaust for the MX-6 would fit a Probe......

Then i read some and im wondering this

I know its been talked about a thousand times....and from all I can tell the borla IS the best sounding exhaust for a probe.....but i have a few questions

Is the Borla The Best Performing exhaust for a probe?

What would it take to make another exhaust like the greddy SP sound as good as the borla?

      VERY debatable

      greddy has bigger pipe sizing.

So Greddy Evo for an MX-6 will fit a Probe......hmm

I like everything about the Borla Exhaust except the looks of it...It just doesnt have the right look to me....

I like the look of SOME greddys iv seen.....when I first saw pictures of greddys they used to seem to have a more oval...slightly cone shaped tip that looked perfect with the rear....now the ones i see dont look so hot like that....

Performance is almost solely dependant on the piping when it comes to your catback... SO, if you just like the look of the greddy muffler but don't want to pay the crazy cash for it you have some options: You can get some custom mandrel bent piping (either 2.25" or 2.5", depends how mod heavy you'll be going -- do some reading if you're not sure) or you could just order a pacesetter catback soley for the piping (2.5" mandrel bent, and its only 200 bucks), paint it with some high temp exhaust paint and stick a greddy style muffler on it; http://www.apexr1.com/tsudgredstyl.html

yeah but the only issue I have is the sound really at this point..

I used to like greddys....i swear I used to see pictures where the tip looked like it was made of a thin metal, and had a slight cone to it and was oval ....hmm

I'm sure the greddy evo will fit on a probe. I installed one on my 626 about 2 weeks back, equal length, no adjustments needed. I believe the GReddy EVO out performs the borla, and sounds better . Though I put my Bosal/brospeed headers on today and I must say, wow....

Are you kidding? Theres countless people on these forums with an evo on their probe(s)! It fits fine... 96-97 owners just need an extension that greddy will send for free.

countless? ok and you dont mean to say that they have the sp exhaust? if so then where are they? i would just like someone with one to give their side of the install, how it went, fitment and does it not stick out farther than it should.

no problem, that's why i wanted to double check. the sp is made for a probe where the evo is made for the mx6 and its quite new. i havent heard of any probes with an evo yet. any out there?
