Because it probably involved monkeys, cucumbers, and tomato paste.

              • TGIF! I got my new solid rear diff bushings in, along with stiffer rear trailing arms. Going to change the oil and rear diff fluid this weekend, too. You guys know that royal purple 75w-90 gear oil is up to 20 DOLLARS PER QUART now?!? However, the new bushings make the rear end SO solid now, it's ridiculous. I get absolutely ZERO clutch chatter, even in reverse!! There is a slight whine going down the highway now, since there are more vibrations being transmitted throughout the car, but no big deal.

On a related note, we are going to hit up the local 1/8th mile drag strip 1 week from today to launch the sh*t out of our cars and make sure they won't break. Then (hopefully the following week) we plan on hitting Empire Dragway.

A guy on the forums making 510RWHP just ran a 10.97 @ 130.40MPH with a horrid 60'...I'm hoping to follow suit.

                    • I feel an 1/8th mile is a massive waste of time. I'll wait 'til I can get to Empire.

                          • Oh yeah, let me just say that I ran my high boost setting tonight for the first time on the street (516RWHP @ 86 degrees F and 50% humidity, so probably 530+RWHP tonight with 65 degrees F and 0 humidity), and HOLY ****! I should run 10's and trap 130+ no problem. When I first got on it, I spun the tires BADLY through 3rd...that's insane.

When the tires warmed up and hooked, it was game over. It puts you back so hard in the seat, I cant even begin to describe it. I need to get to Empire on a night like tonight so I can get my 10 second slip.

Douche the sand out of your vag... The only reason that 1/8th mile sucks is because it's a newer track. It's not broken in because it doesn't get the runs like other tracks do plus they don't prep it what-so-ever. Otherwise an 1/8th mile is a perfect way to get down your RT's and 60's plus you get SOO many more runs it because you don't have slow balls people doing 15+ second runs. You line up, you race, you line back up, you race some more.

                              • I agree that 1/8th mile isn't the best Ant, and believe me I don't prefer it. However, as Jeremy stated, it's great for practicing R/T and getting your 60' times down.

Also, the other reason I'm going to run there first is because it is so close. If I break the tow home won't be NEARLY as expensive!

Oh yeah, and want to know another thing? I ran into a friggin Skyline GT-R last night...He would goose it on the highway, I'd go, and he wanted nothing to do with me. It was so disappointing. I was all ready (for once) with race gas on high boost!!

                                Maybe he knew better?
