    Hello, ProbeTalk!

My account was finally activated yesterday (why did it take three weeks??) so I can introduce myself and my car. Earlier this year I bought my first car, a 1996 Probe GT. When I saw the ad, I knew this was the one. An extremely clean and stock example, my favorite rims and taillights, one of the best colors, etc. So I contacted the owner and then went with my dad on the long drive to go see it. It had been sitting for over a year, but it started right up and ran perfect. Eventually we bought it and headed for home. Since I had never driven manual, my dad drove it and I followed. The car was not registered or insured and had no plates, but we made it through several hours of driving, when, of course, the local police spotted it and pulled my dad over. And this was at 2 am if I remember correctly, haha. He had the title and the bill of sale so there were no problems, but its kind of a funny story.

Anyway I feel like I'm rambling so I'll stop there. Feel free to ask me anything.

    Here she is:

Only things not stock are the floormats and the radio.

Wow! That is a clean car. Have you learned how to drive it yet? My first stick I bought with only a few minutes ever driving stick, RWD S-10, in winter, I drove it home.

Looks nice. Not too many clean, unmolested 5spd GTs left. Take care of it!

Yes I drove it soon after we got it home. Aside from starting in 1st gear, I picked it up almost immediately. I watched a lot of how-to videos, hah.

Great find and congrats! My first car was also a 96 PGT 5spd - back in 2005! I made the mistake of selling it and finally just got back into another PGT last week.

                    Whereabouts in MN are you?

I'm in southern MN. Having never seen a PGT other than mine, I wonder how many others are in Minnesota. The only probes I have memory of seeing are a couple of beat-up base models this summer.

There are only a few of us in MN that are still "involved" and interested in the probe game. I only know of maybe 5 in the state. That's why I would love to get some more ppl on board. I'm in Brooklyn Center btw if anyone is near
