I’m sorry Jesse but maybe you should stop for a second and look at the big picture. You can’t decide what your "build" on your car is going to be so what makes you think you could organize a meet as big as MMX. Theres hotels, shirts, permits, Photos, organizing events and getting everyone interested in going. You don’t have the money or the resources to do it. I’m with you on the fact that id like to see another MM and id for sure be going if it was to happen.
I just think your biting off more then you can chew, this isn’t a car were talking about.

You just called me a socialist? Are you freakin' kidding me?

Myrtle ended because attendance had been on the decline. It was just not as worth it to spend 7 months of the year planning and prepping for something to find out that less people were interested in being there. After 10 years of planning it, we saw the peaks at 6, 7 & 8. It was already tailing off at that point.

Frankly, I'm sick of arguing with 20 people who insist there has to be a Myrtle. Sick of hearing about all these people who are sad that they never went. Sick of not getting any respect towards our wishes that the meet is over and past.

If the only thing anyone wants to try is Myrtle Beach, then by all means please go be unadventurous and unimaginative there.

i still reccomend something more centralized

i wish i would of gone to mm but never made it but it seems like u went through alot of work and prep for the probe community. I think most people dont realize the work that went into preparing something of the magnitude. : for doin it for the 10 yrs.

obviously bitching isnt goin to do anything guys.

Wat we need is to be productive and figure something out to start a new era in probe meets.

I liked the myrtles I attended, and the ones I registered for and didn't get to attend. The location was ideal in terms of weather and attractions and geographically friendly for a great number of people.

The bottom line is Myrtle is not a 200 car meet dedicated to probes like the grander years that grew it's legend. And with the hard and fast policy of probe/mx6s only the attendance is not going to be that big again. From my experiences, one or two of the main organizers are strictly against other cars being able to show for their own reasons.

I may not agree with the probe/mx6 only policy, but that's their vision, and they're the ones putting in an incredible amount of work to produce the event. I think it's quite fair to let Myrtle Madness rest and if you're that infatuated with being in South Carolina the 2nd weekend in November take a vacation and hang out there. You might see some familiar faces, but you won't see a parking lot full of Probes no matter who throws the event.

aww did i hit a nerve there? so what if you don't have more and more. to me, its not about the love of the car any more to you, just your so called "respect", and quite frankly, i don't respect that at all. I don't care if there are ten or ten thousand. you have a group of people who still have the passion that was MM. Numbers mean shit to me, there doesn't necessarily have to be all the commercialism that your talking about with t-shirts pictures. it's a plus i'll give ya that. but it's supposed to be about the people.

What if we did something in Myrtle during the summer. No one says it has to be the second week of november or whenever it was.

if i had the resources, i would. my whole point is, like you yourself said, the selfishness. i will give credit where it is due, you started something great. but instead of handing it down to someone who is willing and capable, you would just have it die and say respect my wishes. have you even stopped to think of the great american traditions that would have died in time, no matter how great or how small, if that was the ideas of the founding fathers that started them? if you dont want to do it, just man up and say that, but dont pull a dick move and say its dead and tell people that want to, not to try and carry on with it. do it some other time, call it something different and insist on a different location is crap. i wouldnt think lesser of you if that is all that it was but that jiberish cost some serious respect points. you couldve gone out an inspirator but to me, well... something much less.

Well summer in Myrtle Beach is normally really packed with vacationers plus the hotels are more expensive and hard to find vacant ones. It also used to be pretty popular with the harley riders they had a big bike meets but I heard recently they were canceled.
