  • Klze Flywheel: Better Than Mx3 Flywheel???????

my klze came with the flywheel.
should i remove it and put an mx3 flywheel or use the ze's?

also im rolling with 225/40/18. i have heard that if i replace my tranny with the probe gt's, this will compensate for the HP loss due to my big wheels. probe gt gear ratio vs mx6

    8 bolts....

    Weigh your FW

If it is over 16 lbs then get a MX3

if it is = or less keep stock

I seriously doubt a ZE flywheel will weigh 16lbs, I head probe and MX-6 flywheels weigh in around 22lbs. So, get an MX-3 flywheel and use that, just have it resurfaced. You can pick one up from NAPA or Autozone IIRC.

sure it's a flywheel and not a flex plate? i don't see a reason why the ZE flywheel would be anything different from the 03 flywheels

          another question?
i was told that the mx6 in japan are all ATX, therefore the flywheel from the ZE is for an ATX.

          thanks for the help.
i think i will buy the mx3 flywheel, i saw one for $50.00 canadian.

what about the probe tranny issue.

A pgt tranny would bring your final drive ratio to a better number performance wise, meaning your gearing would be shorter and more aggressive. Most of the loss with the wheels is in the heavy weight of 18's though depending on what type of rims you have. If you have a choice, go with the pgt tranny.

              mx3

first of all thanks for the reply.

now my question is which year of mx3 flywheel should i get.
i see that there is 1.6 and 1.8 from the 6 cylinder.
              i saw a 92 mx3 v6 flywheel but it says its a 1.6 is this a typo.
              then i saw a 92 mx3 v6 and this one is 1.8.
whats going on. there cant be 2 types of v6 engine for the mx3.

Unfortunately there aren't two types of V6 MX-3, because the other one would be 2.5L from the factory.

The V6 MX-3 is the one you want. It's 1.8L and the engine code is K8.

So the mx3 flywheel just bolts right in?? Inplace of the 03's?? I can just buy a resurfaced one from autozone and blot it in? If not what do i have to do?

If you cannot find one at autozone go to www.car-parts.com and get a used one then have it resurfaced.

It would just need resurfaced, go to a NAPA machine shop or any NAPA store and ask how much they'll charge.
