  • Thumbs down on King6 rear poly control arm bushings

I recently received these from a member on here brand new for a decent deal. I am not looking for a refund nor trying to start anything from the supplying company, however I am appalled by what I see and I think it needs to be shown because they appear unsafe to use in their present form.

At first glance they dont look too bad, aside from the un centered holes and inconsistent angles of the mounting tabs.

Then we flip them over. Fit and finish here is nothing short of terrible. But its not just the looks I am concerned with.

I will let the rest of the pics and captions speak for themselves.

These are very disappointing and I feel are very unsafe to be used on anything but a show car that will never be driven on the street. I will be removing the poly bushings themselves to try to be used in the stock components and junking the K6 brackets.

Horrible craftsmanship. I'm surprised anyone actually put their name on these.

raises hand for lining up is horrid. I had some welds rewelded. On his site he does say he's not a proffessional or anything. So please inspect before you use any parts you buy from anyone.

Just a small update here. I haven't had time to do much lately but today at work I did some measuring and it turns out that with a little bit of massaging, you can put the poly bushings into the stock housing. I will be installing them in my car tonight, as long as the rain holds off.

That's good to know, I might have to swap mine out. How did you take out the bushings without damaging them?

The bushings are 2 piece. I used a blind bearing puller
                            http://www.diseno-art.com/images_2/b...ing_puller.jpg
which could grab the edge int he middle to pull one half of the bushing out and then just tapped out the other half. On the stock bushing, I just put in in a press and pushed out the center. I used a knife to slice out the remaining rubber while leaving a bit behind to give the bushing a good snug fit when I hit the bushings in with a rubber mallet.

Have you tried contacting Darren with your findings? While i agree that trying to get a refund as the second owner would be a bit of a stretch, he's pretty open to improvements and criticism.
