  • Officially TWINCHARGED!!!!

Quick Video! I watched it on streetfire.net, and couldn't get sound to come on. Could someone verify that for me? If there is no sound, I appologize, since that's why I made the vid.......

    http://upload.streetfire.net/video/T...ged_186170.htm

Give it a minute to make sure it loads......

Hey guys, whats up? I just spent today putting on my supercharger inlet box, then putting the supercharger back onto the car, with the turbo of course!

First Drive: Holy Crap!!! The car instantly boosts 8psi, but the blower pulley combo should only see 5psi. So the car instantly sees 8psi, then within ONE second, sees 11-13psi(gage vs megasquirt). But the car still pulls ungodly great, and right now Im running less total boost than when I was just turboed.

Known Problems: The BOV after the blower doesn't want to stay open like it should in vaccuum, or at least like the BOV did when my car was just supercharged, so I have to look into that and figure out why it wont stay open........

I blew two couplers on the quick drive, so I don't have all the problems even known yet, but i'll get 'er.....

Also, I'll try to get a video so I can show the world the little beast!!!

Comments, questions, concerns, constructive critisisms, bring 'em on.

Thanks for lookin, pics and vids to come.......

    John

nice, hope it looks as good as it sounds. is it a clean setup? you will need a bypass valve for the supercharger.

Well the car itself looks stock, but the engine bay looks all sorts of clutterred. just looks too busy, and you cant even see the blower! I'm pretty sure I will be running two bypass valves after the supercharger, but they will be vented to atmo, so You can call them BOV's, but they need to stay open in vaccuum, so they will need to be bypass valves..... almost the same thing, and I don't even know the difference in the construction of the two......

Oh and currently the car runs a first gen DSM BOV post turbo, pre supercharger, and a Gready BOV post supercharger......

ha ha, yeah, already been through two third gears...... My next paycheck is nice so I might go for the 3-5th combo from the GTX, but damn $450 is a lot of cash to put into two gear sets......

Really nice, I have been thinking about sequential twin turbo, but even with one t3/t4 there shouldn't be much lack of boost. I guess you really hate turbo lag. lol

You do not need to running 2 bypasses. I can tell you right way to run twincharging setup. Basically, you need to put the throttle body on the supercharger and then you need to run the turbo straight in to the supercharger with the BOV between supercharger throttle body and turbo outlet. When you will open your throttle plate, the supercharger will suck the compressed air from the turbo, when you will close the throttle plate the BOV will open to relive the air.
P.S i am working on the same project right now )))

That may be fine and dandy for your setup, but kinda hard when the supercharger is mounted in the a/c location........ I guess I should have mentioned that....... And even if you run the blower after the throttle plate, you better have a bypass, or you will be in boost all of the time!

It is going to sound like a million bumblebees at idle with that setup. It would be a lot better if you could get the TB to be before the SC inlet.

Okay...you do not have to mount the TB on the SC. Tell me what kind of motor do you have and if it is possible, take picture.
What i want to say is,if you do not have a room to mount the TB, take that pipe which one is going to the inlet of the supercharger and mount the TB on that pipe. It will be the same thing if you will mount the TB on the SC.
Your setup have to be like this: Turbo---BOV---> TB-supercharger--->intercooler-->Engine
