I also posted this on the 6 boards just thought I would get the word around
I recently recieved a unos800 KlZE for $450 shipped to my door as my old ZE was burning oil and i contaced them when it was still under warrenty and I never got any reply back for a couple weeks, so I went back and called them but my 6 month warrenty was up and they told me they could send me another ZE for $450 so I said yea ill do that its not bad as I needed a motor. So i recieved my eunos800 KLZE and the cams read kl 101 and the heads read kl31 101 so I said I would give it a try. I had my same mechanic install my ZE and I was ready to pick up my 6 after school. He had EVERYTHING back in the car and was ready to drop it down off the lift and put the hood on. I come into the shop and he tells me he has some bad news. He had it running for no longer than 30 seconds and it just started to slap really bad, an unusuall slapping. He pulls the plugs to come find out that one of the cylinders (the middle cylinder standing in front of the car #5 i believe) is completely missing the piston. I wasnt to sure if thats what he said and so he showed me. He put a scope down into the cylinder and when I looked through all I could see was the connecting rod and pin but no piston. He began to pull the oil pan to see what was really in it. First there was a whole bunch of little shrap metal in the pan and then he pulls off the plate under the crankshaft and chuncks come out. Theres 4 good chunks that you can make out that it was the piston it self, the rings are all chewed up along with more little chunks of metal and it just looks bad. Now Noyan claims they "test" these motors before they ship them out and so who knows what exactly they are testing if I got a blown motor. So now i am out about a grand to pay for the installation and i have no motor. I re-contacted Noyan and they tell me they can send me another ZE for another $450. Shouldnt I be getting another ZE no charge as they sent me a blown motor with a blown piston not even knowing what else can be wrong with the motor. I just would like to get the word out and people be aware of what you are purchasing nor do I want to see anybody else go through this kind of mess as it is nerve racking and i am still deciding of what I should do as of right now.
Here are a couple pictures that I took of what came out of the motor
